If they sign a second Commander in as many years, TWil is going to have to start researching QB's who don't pout.

"The team" mentioned in the statement is the Commanders not the Cowboys by the way. When I first read it, I thought it meant the Cowboys. The only thing it mentions is that the Cowboys are "expected" to be one of 5 or so teams to want Garcon to help a young QB.

It depends where each ends up but it wouldn't shock me if TWill outperforms Garcon from here on out for the rest of their respective careers.

This is fake news because who wants to stay with the Commanders?

I've always liked Garcon's game. He's not an impact player, but I do think he'd bring something interesting to the WR group. We need a vet WR2, whether it's Williams or a comparable FA like this one. Those guys are available. Then we need to add a speedster finally from the later rounds of a deep WR draft. The nice thing about both Williams and Butler being not-exceptional is that there are plenty of reasonable options for replacing them both.

Talking about free agents bores me because it always comes down to the price tag. Would I be interested in Garcon? Sure, at the right price.

Well, it always comes down to price. Obviously, we're not going to give any No. 2 receiver big money. I just hope we look at upgrades we might can get (maybe for slightly more) to Williams. Sometimes these older vets are cheaper because of age, but still have enough left in the tank. Of course, I'm not against going with a younger player ... just as long as we look to upgrade.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Dallas re-sign Williams because it's comfortable with him, but I'd rather see the team "take a chance" on someone like Garcon than stick with what's comfortable/safe.
