And it’s not all about the team choking. We must also come to terms that other franchises are building better teams and culture which get in our way.
I agree
And there is no indication that things will change anytime soon.
It is a sad truth rather than a fact.

People without realizing it (some of us have) have now gotten sued to wishing "an easier path" to the playoffs or a strike of luck here and there.
That is not what we ONCE WERE, A good team is capable of defeating anyone anywhere. Yes there might be a hiccup here and there but this Dallas Cowboys organization is not a mistake or a bad "run", It is an average franchise ran by an OWER who means well, but does not get the job done.

Yep and this is probably about as good as it gets this era with at least a proven HC. Which there is only so much he can control.

At this point the ONLY HOPE is that when Jerry Retires (or dies) his son might might MIGHT do things differently.
But as of now, we have been, and will be a MEDIOCRE organiztion

Purdy isn't even the best player on SF. Purdy is hype. He is a system QB. If SF has to rely on his arm they are in trouble.
Purdy has gotten hype no doubt of it. Yet he is doing his job. Yeah last night he stank but then pretty much everyone else did except McCaffery.
I am mystified at how threatened so many here feel about a Mr Irrelevant becoming relevant.

Just because 99% do it doesn’t make it right. I’m not a Jerry fan but if you don’t like the way it’s run just deal with it. Tell us all the championship franchises out there right now that is a SB contender and will continue to be one for the next 10 seasons.
Of course , it makes it normal. And we are dealing with it. We don’t have to like it. We also must come to terns with the effects.

Yes, having a normal situation doesn’t guarantee success but it at least provides a greater opportunity to finally get it right someday.

It’s beginning to sound like you’re just trolling me now. Can’t be serious.

I don't think anyone is threatened with Purdy. People just don't buy the hype. He is a good quarterback. I just don't think he is MVP. And I can't stand the 49ers.

It’s fans like that who attract all of the trolling on the Cowboys.

We can have a good team , have a shot at winning in playoffs without the SB Hype. Like most teams who haven’t won or played for a championship recently.

This is why we get trolled.
The teams that played last year look like crap right now.

They aren't mediocre and they could win this year.

With all due respect.
You are still that kind of fan that is fooled, and hopefully.

I do not blame you, but you are in for a rude awakening.
This team won't with anything significant ANYTIME SOON

Dallas is a good team. This can still be a good season. I'll take another good season at least.

I'm not fooled. Pretty much any playoff team in the NFC can win this year. The one that looks like they aren't going anywhere is the Eagles.

The Cowboys are a good team.. They're just not a great team. Great teams are a shoo in to go deep in the playoffs. Good teams need luck and breaks to do so.

Well said. I'm going to hold off until I see how they fare against Detroit, but if Dallas loses on Saturday then the absolute best you can hope for is some kind of flukey Giants 2012 Super Bowl run.

If the Cowboys get the 1 or the 2 spot, do they suddenly become a great team?

Basically what you're asking is if Dallas beats Detroit and Washington, and San Francisco and Philadelphia both lose their remaining games, does Dallas suddenly become a great team?

No. Great teams control their own destinies. Dallas does not. That home field advantage sure would be nice, though.

Agreed.. greatness is determined off of what YOU do, not what others do. Just because others stumble more that you do does not make you great. Just means you stumble less than the other guys.
