Free has missed a big part of training camp with a foot/ankle problem related to the 2 surgeries that he's had in the past 18 months. He was always a marginal player and now he is gimpy.

Meanwhile, I just reviewed the Jags-Lions game from last night and Parnell was terrific. He was easily their best OL in that game. He played the 1st half and into the 3rd quarter. His pass protection was excellent and he was bullying people in the running game.

Weems has not been as bad as many people claim, but he needs a lot of work to be ready to protect Romo if Free's foot/ankle gives out on him or his play just declines below acceptable levels.

The Cowboys for some reason gave Free 5M per year on a new contract.

Jax gave Parnell 6.4M per year (Yes, more was guaranteed, but if he plays out the contract it's the annual average that counts against the cap, not the guarantee).

Parnell is 3 years younger than Free and Parnell is healthy.

Now Romo's health could be in danger and the Cowboys saved a whopping 1.4M per year against the cap.

Collins has to play RT in this scenario once Weems gets his final chance..

If both fail then you would be on to something besides emotion...

I wasn't a huge fan of Parnell last year. Not because he wasn't talented but because he was inconsistent. It felt like he was doing just enough to not get booted and then suddenly he would turn it on and be really good and then just as unexpectedly lose technique again. I agree that he is doing good this year but I attribute that to the wakeup call he got by not being "entitled" to a spot here. I think he will do good in Jax but I don't think he would here. I don't know if that makes sense but it's my .02 :D

Your salary numbers are skewed to try and prove your point. According to Over the cap, Parnell will count 8 million against the cap this year and Free is at 3 million. I do not think that Parnell is worth this much.

I've been saying the same thing about RB.

I think the FO fell in love with the pet theory that they have improved because of better cap management. They fail to realize that is was better drafting that helped the most. Also the cap has increased 20m in two years. They still could have restructured or cut Carr and Witten if they wanted to maximize the cap and take their best shot at the next couple years.

You don't win any games by being too far under the cap. The future will be solved in the future with continued drafting success.

He's not, and I also saw that game and he was average to me.

Good night nurse.

Can we play 3-4 full regular season games before raising the white flag?

Parnell will not be the reason we dont have a successful season...

It seriously hinges on us being able to once again dominate in the run game and control games with alot more juiced up Defense
