Lol, they won a playoff game. They were one of the best teams in the league.Nothing when we got no further than the 5 -12 teams

They will just restructure his contract or extend him to free that much or more the next couple years.Dak needs to voluntarily give some money back, preferably at least $10 mil/year.
Never seen a player give back that kinda coin, my friend.Dak needs to voluntarily give some money back, preferably at least $10 mil/year.
Glory days.Being #1 in RB spending in 2022 suggests we have a GM still trying to build a team like it's 1992.
I join you in the idea about letting Schultz walk. He’s good but not top dollar good. He can be overpaid somewhere else. Ferguson, Hendershot and perhaps another rookie can make a really good TE by committee while on rookie deals.Three of our best players are on rookie deals. Two of those are on defense. Diggs and Parsons will swing those numbers significantly.
Lamb will bump the WR dollars significantly.
Zero salary at backup QB helps keep that number from being too far out of line (10 is still way too high for what we have).
The RB situation looks bad, though the contract responsible for that was 4 years ago. And the numbers at this position are still relatively small compared to many others. Even paying the most in the league is not a huge impact on the cap overall.
Schultz is decent, but nothing exceptional. I don't think I could justify 10+ million for a TE unless they were in the Kelce/Waller/Andrews tier.
He only counted 19 million on the cap this past year.Dak needs to voluntarily give some money back, preferably at least $10 mil/year.
Cap hit is a meaningless method of comparison.A look at how the Cowboys spend their cap space on offense, defense and STs compared to the rest of the league.
Where is our cap space spent in comparison to rest of NFL- Our Spending by position:
- OFFENSE: 27 players/$106 million/ Offense cap spending rank in NFL: 2nd
- DEFENSE: 29 players/$63 million/Defense cap spending rank in NFL: 26th
- ST’s: 4 players/$4.6 million/ST cap spending rank in NFL: 22nd
What jumps out that can be addressed? RB and TE.
- QB- 3 QBs / Ranked #10 in spending at QB
- RB- 4 RBs/ Ranked #1 in spending at RB
- WR- 7 WRs/ Ranked #26 in spending at WR
- TE- 5 TEs/Ranked #5 in TE spending
- OL- 10 OLmen/ Ranked #6 in spending at OL
- DL- 10 DLmen/Ranked #16 in spending at DL
- LB- 8 LBs/ Ranked #22 in spending at LB
- Secondary- 15 players/Ranked #13
- STs-4 players/Ranked #22
With big contracts for Micah Parsons, CEdee Lamb and probably Diggs down the road, money can be saved at those positions to be used elsewhere.

One reason the “cap talk” is relevant is because of how much Stephen Jones uses it. Seems like every year when SJ explains why we can’t sign a FA that would be an impactful add here, he brings up the cap.Cap hit is a meaningless method of comparison.
A player is a 10M AAV could have a cap hit of 5M or 20M in a given season.
AAV is the correct method of comparison.
LOL.............RB #1 in the NFL? Jerry is the dumbest GM in football. RB is one obvious position to save money in the NFL and this clown is #1 in spending. And for some over the hill, slow and depleted clown like Zeke. Wow!A look at how the Cowboys spend their cap space on offense, defense and STs compared to the rest of the league.
