I'm fine with leaving Collins inside. If all goes well, he's potentially dominant there by the time he starts next season. It's clear Weems has one foot out the door with the other dangling.

Mills now gives the team 2 young starting RT candidates for the 2016 season including Chaz Green. Unless both of them completely disappoint, it really eliminates the need to draft one early unless something glorious drops to you.

I still have the belief that our future RT isn't on the roster yet, I think he'll come in next years draft. I was pretty high on Green, but my expectations of him have plummeted due to his injuries since entering the league.

But Mills is a legitimate candidate now to take over for Free. To be taken in the fifth round, winning the starting job in camp, and then starting 16 games and giving up 3 sacks all year; that's quality play from a rookie RT. Like I mentioned, that entire Bears team was imploding last year. So, this guy has one good and one bad season under his belt, and his one bad season came during a time it looked like everyone had called it quits and declared it the offseason by week 13.

This is probably my favorite FA signing since the Hardy deal.

Colossal?? LOL

Yeah "colossal". $2 million in cap space down the drain is a big deal. In case the mathematicians around here were unaware, it doesn't matter how rich Jerry Jones is. The cap is the same for everyone, even the broke owners some of you seem to think exist.

What's waisted is a roster spot of a guy who can't play. I give the FO credit again for not holding onto a bum just because of $

And that's fine. I give them credit for admitting their mistake and moving on too. But I do not cover my eyes or absolve them of that fact that they did make a mistake in the first place.

Because it's cap space maybe? There's a fixed amount of it you know. And when $2 million is wasted, there's less to pay guys you want to keep, like maybe a league-leading rusher...

Mistakes are made at times in EVERY front office. Collins was a gift from heaven and is dirt cheap but it's hardly mentioned around here. Brinkley was a dud and showed NO hunger. Don't want him anywhere this team....2 mil or not. ***NOT-ALLOWED***

So, you think because we gave him $2 million guaranteed, cutting him wasted $2 million of cap space? Why are those who whine the loudest always the ones who understand the least?

That's not true at all. Everyone here universally applauded that great move and hurt their hands from patting Jones, Garrett, and all involved for that move.

Brinkley was a dud and showed NO hunger. Don't want him anywhere this team....2 mil or not. ***NOT-ALLOWED***

Move on is fine, erase from memory or the salary cap? Not happening.

$2 million wasted is $2 million wasted. Cover your eyes all you want.

In the past Jerry would have kept the player in this situation and players that could contribute more to the team would not have a roster spot. It is much better to just move on and not worry about it than to try to salvage the mistake.

I've mentioned before that Jimmy had multiple failed 3rd round picks, but at least 2 of them were cut immediately their 1st training camp and he never looked back on the road to winning Super Bowls.

Getting caught up in issues like this instead of moving forward was one of Jerry downfalls in the the lean years for the team.

Anyone that is worked up about it, is just using the Jerry of the Campo years mindset.

Tell me all about how the money somehow doesn't count. I'll eagerly await this gem.

And why is it that some fans have to cry as soon as anyone dare criticizes 'their Cowboys'?

And I'm not suggesting that. What I refuse to do is blind myself to the fact that $2 million of salary cap money was wasted on a guy they misevaluated.

And they somehow weren't stricken from memory or this team's history. Good to know.

It's not an either/or thing, no matter how much some fans wish it were so. Good for the team for admitting they made a mistake, bad on the team for doing it and costing themselves $2 million.

Not either/or, but both.

And they owned it, right away to at that. End of story

The Cowboys have maximized the roster this off-season. That does not happen without making a lot of moves which include risk. They wouldn't have Hardy or Gregory is they were scared of making a mistake and just played it conservatively.

A lot of players in baseball could have high averages if they just tried for a single every time instead of going for home runs, but singles are not what wins games in the major leagues.

Ain't your $2 million, ain't mine. Roster looks better than any in the league right now, so who cares?

We used to have a bajillion dollars of dead money every year. This is child's play.

And for the record, Bears fans seem as upset about losing Mills as Seahawks fans are about losing Michael to a conference contender that they have to deal with.

Again, it's not mutually exclusive. Not sure how that concept eludes you. I can praise good moves all day long but that doesn't mean I have to blind myself to big mistakes. If you do, that's on you.
