Cowboys Claim RB Rod Smith from SEA

Well if CMike is your starter, then maybe you need a short yardage back again... CMike and Rod Smith two back set downhill attack.. or something.. Can he return kicks? It seems like Lucky's days are numbered.

Relax people.
Remember anyone can run behind this line. Haha..

I guess we need some more players to deactivate week after week playing RB.

I chuckle also, but this OL isn't playing the run game like last year either.
Or do you dispute that?

I don't get this at all, if we also have 2 more RB's in for workouts today as well as 2 other positions (DT and WR). Why claim this guy now ? Did they not think he would be there after the workouts i.e. someone else would have claimed him ?
Does that now make the RB workouts a waste of time ? So if we do like one or more of the 4 guys we are bringing in for a look, now we have to get rid of some more guys.
I get the "churn baby churn" theory. But it is starting to feel like the 2013 season all over again, where we would sign multiple DE's and they were starting the next week. Felt like we went thru about 30 of them. Are we that desperate already ???
Somebody explain ...

So DMC's days are numbered? (which I'm fine with)

And we're going big now?

Having a hard time making sense of RB situation.

AND, is this now a mea culpa that their RB by committee/draft (lack of) strategy is officially a bust ?

Not sure really. Part of me wonders if the line is playing like last year but our backs are not running the same way Demarco ran last year. Timing, patience, tackle breaking, hole selection, ect... We may have just had a perfect combination of chemistry with the line and Murray. Something that worked very well for both Murray and the OL.

While I won't argue the chemistry between the line and DM last year- you have to be seeing the obvious.
They're letting guys through like a sieve on running plays like they absolutely did not do last year on the basis they do now.

It's glaring. Yeah, the RB's are inferior. They do the OL no favors, but it's the same vice-versa right now.

And it's easy to see.

Chrun baby churn.

So many around here complaining about RB corp should give the FO some credit for bring in Michael and now Smith. At least we aren't sitting still. We're making moves and addressing the situation.

My only problem with what you stated is we shouldnt be in this situation to being with...thanks to the front office. We had stability..why screw with it.
