So Prime with all these Vets out there --Who does Dallas sign ??
I don't think they are going to sign any of them. I think they are going to roll into training camp and see what they got first. If necessary, they might get durant back. However, if there's a major injury, it would be wise to grab a vet

Again, this is what I think THEY are going to do.

The optimum word is "cheap". If an out of work player is looking for money Stephen is going to pass them by.
He wants to bring in hungry guys wanting to earn a job not collect another check. If you want vet minimum deals with
incentives to be reached apply at the Cowboy's star complex.

Work him out, and if he is in shape then give him a Mincey deal. Two years. Not the minimum but not much more than twice it.

He's going to be spending the first year working himself back into playing form.

I imagine if they are interested they are siccing their investigative team to look into him. Likely will take time if anything happens at all.

This team never learns ......... has any of these problem children ever worked out?
Rolando was a useful pick up. He gave us good production cheaply. That is valuable.
So many fans are sitting here saying: "Can't hurt. Get him cheap and give him a shot".

However, if Dallas did and he played well in 2017 - and then did something dumb, getting suspended in 2018 - the fan base would be roasting the Cowboys for bringing in a guy that can't be trusted.

How many of the people saying give him a shot would also complain next year in the above scenario?

My guess is a whole **** load of them.

The problem isn't the money spent... it is what happens if he's still very good? Do you rely on him? Do you not? Will he be here the next season? Do you draft a LB or not? Will he effect the locker room in a negative way? Will he help it in a positive way? If so, what happens when he gets suspended again?

It simply isn't worth the effort and the time spent with him.

I learned a valuable lesson with McClain.
A lot of guys get paid a lot of money to worry about all the things you mention above. Saying it's hard isn't a good enough answer for trying to improve the team.

I have bad news for Daryl. He's going to have to play for the league minimum, wherever he ends up.
Exactly. You will be on a prove it deal no matter where you go. After you've played a season, come back with negotiation talks then. But as for now, you need to take what's on the table if you want to get back in the league.

I think it's a money thing as much as any of the other factors. Washington needs to realize that he needs to earn his way back into the league, and that means playing for vet minimum or close to it.
