It may have been only a coincidence, but the Cowboys contingent perked up when Idaho offensive guard Mike Iupati took the stage. Iupati was measured at 6 feet 5 and 325 pounds. Iupati was a finalist for the Outland Trophy, given to the nation's top lineman.

U might have got excited too. The Outland Trophy goes to best DL not OL. Nebraska's DT Ndamakung Suh won Outland this year

He's a good one but I'd rather use a 2-3 on Ducasse at OG vs a 1 on Iupati.

Um, you are dead wrong.

The Outland Trophy goes to the best interior lineman, period, on either side of the ball.

You might have got excited as well, the Outland Trophy goes to the best INTERIOR linemen, offensive or defensive... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outland_Trophy. Bengals OT Andre Smith from Alabama won last year.

Unless he really blows his workout I actually see him moving up in the first round. I don't think he'll be there when Dallas picks.

I'm sure they did when it appears he will still be on the board around where our pick is. I would think most guys who appear to be in our range the Cowboys are looking closely at. He is a good player who could help fill a need as well so if he ends up being our selection I would more than welcome it.

No it's awarded to the top OFFENSIVE lineman in the nation.

It was no coincidence, a blind man knows where the team needs new blood.

Yeah, but that hasn't stopped our self-appointed GM from totally ignoring obvious weaknesses in the past.

You are correct:

The Outland Trophy is given annually to the nation's best interior offensive or defensive linemen by the Football Writers Association of America.

IF Dallas were to spend a first round pick on a lineman it should be on a LT!

Best player available. Reaching for an LT can be trouble. Now if one happens to drop down that far, then so be it.

Free was drafted to be a LT and Brewster the RT, we could use a interior Lineman for sure, someone to replace Proctor, Preston and McQuiston.

Not that it's impossible but can anyone name a good 6-4 RT?

Ya, many starting NFL RTs are 6-4 or under. Jets Damien Woody is 6-3. Packers Mark Tauscher is 6-3. Ravens Michael Oher, maybe the best rookie OL to come along in 10 years is 6-4. Patriots Nick Kaczur is 6-4.

Those are just the playoff teams.
