Dak deserves his share of blame for things constantly going sideways, but this particular stat is a reflection of how bad the defense has been most seasons. When the offense doesn't have a good game, we're usually losing badly. There aren't a lot of 13-10 losses in that stretch.

This is just another symptom of a broken organization. A couple of draft picks isn't fixing this, no matter the position, nor how great they are.

This stat is really misleading.

The Cowboys' offense has generally been very explosive the past five years. Basically, when the Cowboys win, they've scored a ton of points.

Low scoring games are not the norm in today's NFL.

Idk, the Texans have held opposing offenses under 20 ten times this season. I agree low scoring games aren't the norm, but there are still good defenses out there. We wouldn't know, but I hear it happens.

A lot of these guys got similar paydays to Dak. It’s not a problem unique to Dallas, all I’m trying to say.

And some of those got starting gigs after moving to a new team anyway.

But thats not the lone point. If this FO would value the position as it should be valued we have never gotten into the situation that we had to pay him every penny he was demanding.

Having medicore or bad players on your roster with ridiculous high contracts is not a sign of how the market works. Latter is just an explanation from people who want you to believe its so. So they dont have to justify their decission making.

No, those high contracts are a sign of mismanagement, reactive spontanous dealing instead of pro-active, long term planing.
But for the latter you need to have knowledge and understanding. You need to put in some hard work.

Right, but those teams paid those guys and then moved off during their big contract (Rodgers specifically in NYJ) when it became clear things weren’t getting better. Dak is already on contract 2. Keeping him on contract 1 and again on contract 2 despite nothing changing team success-wise since his rookie contract is a strategy unique to Dallas, and one they did similarly with Romo.
