Cowboys cuts (A. Glenn) *Merged*

Maybe the Cowboy's brain trust has had the advantage of watching all the players continually since July and have come to the conclusion that Reeves and Jones if anything aren't any worse than Glenn.

Please list what practices and games you've watched and rewatched this training camp, keeping intensive notes on each player.

I went to almost every practice at training camp, have watched every pre-seaon game....in fact I have not missed a game in over 10 yrs

I can tell you from memory all 53 players on the roster, where they played, how they were acquired, ect.......

BEAST IS DIEHARD.........SO BEAST IS WELL INFORMED:cool:

I'll still support the Cowboy's point of view.

Sorry Beast.

You're right.

Amazing how many NFL couch scouts we have in this forum.

You would have thought we just cut Deion in his prime rather than a 5'4", 57year-old.

Cut our best nickel defensive back on the team. Thats smart....

WOW.. I seriously never saw that coming.

It's been a long time coming.

If we could only do something about Henry....

We've been starting Henry for 2 seasons now.

$25 Million should buy us a Pro Bowl corner.

It hasn't.

I'm realistic though. I know it will be at least one more season before we cut/trade Henry.

You want Henry gone.

Who starts for him?

Wow-I'm shocked at all the over-reaction over A. Glenn's cut.

The guy has had a very good, consistent career-but he's WAY past his prime now. And I'll be SHOCKED if some other team picks him up.

A couple of weeks from now, a bunch of you guys will be stratching your heads why you thought "That idiot Jerry cut this guy".

Reeves starts and Parakeete is our nickel.

Then Tnew will be back. We tanked with Tnew down stretch past two seasons so fact is onus is on Phillips and front 7 plus Roy to create havoc and create havoc.

Just heard the news? Where have you been at bro?

j/k
haha living in chicago now its hard to get cowboys news so fast without being online...

Quick question.

Is Phillips' defense more dependant on zone coverage? Is it possible that Phillips is looking for bigger DBs who are better vs then run and more of ball hawks then cover corners. I am not an X and O guy but it seems like I heard Phillips talk more about using a lot of zone blitzes.

1. Yes

2. Yes

Which is why I'm SHOCKED 99% of Zoners here are going bananas over Glenn's cut.

When Glenn was with the Jets(remember Parcells was the coach at the time)-they played zone coverage in their 3-4 base. It was a good 10 years younger, which was why he was a Pro Bowler at the time.

Everyone-RELAX and take a deep breath. The season will be starting in a week.

BP would bench his guy when it came down to it. Remember Bledsoe? Jones and Reeves just have not shown anything that makes me think they are as good as Glenn.

As good as Glenn used to be?

:star:

Not really-if anything, Tuna would go as far as giving his vets a free passes. It's his younger players he would put a *short* leash on.

Remember T-Giving in '04? When he yanked Henson and put in Vinny T(only to let me start for the remainder of the season)? Or remember when the 2nd '05 Skins game was out of hand, and instead of seeing what Romo is like, he let Bledsoe lobby to keep him in?

The only reason why he waited 'till midseason to start Romo last year was b/c he was desperate.

I just read on cbs sportsline that the Jags have claimed Glenn.

Wow-why is everyone obsessed over Aaron Glenn?

And besides, are ANY of the other 31 teams the least bit deep in the secondary? Philly isn't either, to break it to you guys. If Shephard/Dawkins go down, they're in deep doo-doo as well.
