Gee Sarge, Nate Newton said it was the most excruciating pain he has ever suffered - and he's spent three full hours with Jen Floyd Engel doing a radio show.

I don't think Nate is speaking honestly of his prison experience.

The shot can be slightly painful, especially when given into a joint, but in skilled hands it usually is well tolerated. Often the cortisone injection can be performed with a very small needle that causes little discomfort. However, sometimes a slightly larger needle must be used, especially if your physician is attempting to removed fluid through the needle prior to injecting the cortisone. Numbing medication, such as Lidocaine or Marcaine, is often injected with the cortisone to provide temporary relief of the affected area. Also, topical anesthetics can help numb the skin in an area being injected.

Probably the most common side-effect is a 'cortisone flare,' a condition where the injected cortisone crystallizes and can cause a brief period of pain worse than before the shot. This usually lasts a day or two and is best treated by icing the injected area.

This thread has possibilities - maybe 1000 posts once Winicki gets back in here with his dwarf remarks.

It will be extra funny if we resign him in a few days.
I just can't wait till Stanback does something of note, and see what he says.

However, that day may take a while...:bang2:

just heard the news and while i think its dumb that we cut him im not surprised. i mean the guy is gettin up there in age and the trend nowadays in the NFL just seems to be go with the young guys and let them fight through adversity...

BTW in the fantasy football zone i made a thread about that i wanna create a fantasy football league on ESPN for cowboyszone members and im wonderin if anyone is interested??? i belive its 10 members per league so im checkin if i can get 9 cowboyszone members that are interested. if u are head over to the fantasy football zone and let me know that u are. i will give more details once i get 9 members interested...

Really though this increasingly sounds like he's been cut so that his contract isn't guaranteed and he'll be back after game 1.

Jebus. This seems incredibly stupid.

I dont get it???

Why in world would we cut Glenn, his salary could not be a factor because we are like $13 mill under the freaking cap.

I am sorry guys, but this is freaking stupid. I would expect this type of move of the Deadskins, but the Boyz???

Newman better be in the starting lineup Sunday, otherwise our starting corners are Henry and Reeves, with Nate Jones or Alan Ball playing the slot???

Good grief, our secondary is starting to look like Seattle's last year:mad:

Wade must feel like all the backups sucked equally, so when in doubt, go with youth, size, and measurables. Maybe he thought Glenn was what he was, and the others could be coached up.

Or this all could be so Glenn's money isnt guaranteed.

So what about Glenns money, I dont get this.

We are $13 mill under the freaking cap, we do not need to cut players to save money.

This move is absolutely one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. CBs is the weakest area on the team and we go and cut Glenn. Maybe he has lost a step, but put him at #3 or #4.

You telling me that Nate Jones and Alan Ball >>> Glenn........STUPID:mad:

Maybe the Cowboy's brain trust has had the advantage of watching all the players continually since July and have come to the conclusion that Reeves and Jones if anything aren't any worse than Glenn.

Please list what practices and games you've watched and rewatched this training camp, keeping intensive notes on each player.

All-time overreaction thread.

There are clearly more moves coming.

Glenn can be resigned tomorrow w/o his contract obligations. There will be lots of choices from the cut list today and the best way to put brown and Ball on the PS is to wait 48 hrs before cutting them.

Wait, wait, wait with all the "stupid" comments.

Actually under league rules, Glenn's salary would be guarented if he is on the roster openning day. If he was cut to same money on his contract, we cant sign him back till week 2, not tommorow.

That is why everybody is so concerned, playing the Giants with a bunch of rooks in the secondary.

I'm pretty sure Glenn's salary is only guaranteed if he's signed wk. 2, regardless of what happens after

so if we sign him wk 2 and say cut him wk 6, his salary is still guaranteed

His 500K is guaranteed. If he is on the roster for game 1, his entire 1.7 mill is guaranteed.

That is why some teams cut a vet and resign in week 2, you avoid the full amount of the contract.

If we signed Glenn back in week 2 and cut him again in week 6, he is paid for 4 games + his 500K, not the full 1.7.

It is a cap gimmik, but we dont need to do it since we are $13 mill under the cap.
