The closest thing to that is a government job....
Im going to be honest with you. I thought about it, but i know some people might take it personal. There are some people who truly care about their job (government). But yes, its vox populi that government jobs are like that.

Imagine knowing this and thinking the players are being greedy. No the Jones' are cheap hillbillies
Imagine knowing this and still rooting for a team owned by a cheap hillbilly. Which is worse, us or him? And, please...let's not use the word hillbillies anymore. It'll make one of our posters very nervous.

Imagine calling someone who spends over $500 million a "cheap Hillbilly"
its relative. how much did other owners invest? the goal of the football team is to win championships. when you don't, there is something wrong. when other team do, and they invest more, it tells you the problem.

This is speculation, not proof. It's literally in the article lol. The Jones' don't spend cash on players because they're dumb, not because they're in financial trouble lol.

Ickes ignored the fact that a) Comstock is up something like 80% in the last 5 years and b) the Cowboys are worth $10 billion so it wouldn't be hard for Jerry to find another $100m or so in investment if it was needed to pay players.
Wow.....you still don't comprehend the salary cap.

Unbelievable.

I’ve been banging on this drum for ages
cash is king

No team has more cash than this one. It’s a massive advantage if used properly. Look at the rams for example. It won them a Super Bowl.

But the biggest baddest sporting franchise in the entire world - operates like the Jacksonville Jaguars. Shocking. Total embarrassment
It's not. And the numbers back it up.

And yet the Cowboys sit at the top in Super Bowl wins, only behind the Patriots all time and about half of the league has 0 or 1 Super Bowl wins in their entire history.

well, there is patriots, there is steelers as well who have 6.

and all of those are prior to past 28 years when Jones took over and Johnson left. ....this is about last 10 years and Jerry Jones management of the team.

28 years of futility and counting.

And imagine knowing this and thinking if we Overpay Dak and Greedy CD , then Micah next year , we will have tons of money to spend on FA's !!

Not !!
Then have to hear you and Davidians whine about not signing any FA's while paying those 3 half the Cap .

But these are not the same Cowboys. They have a totally different operating procedure. Back then they were actively trying to bring in the best talent. They've cut back on that quite a bit.

They are running a business. Not a sports team. Profit is king. Titles come in a very distant second
A business needs to be successful to profit, but the Joneses are making money and the team remains very popular, regardless how the Cowboys perform on the field.

He has only been in football for around 50 years.
Lots of people are in football that long at many levels it doesn’t make them football guys. $$$ are first second and third for business people winning a title is secondary and it’s great if it happens but it’s not the main objective and is something you just can’t grasp, If Jerry wanted a SB champion he wouldn’t allow the last 29 years to continue without massive changes, He’s a narcissist who will not allow anyone but himself have credit even if it means 29 years of failure. A football guy he is not he’s a rich wannabe football guy and is a joke.
