He has the updside to be more than average?

Hardly a ringing endorsement. We need pass rushing demons on at DE, not guys that can hold the fort down.

You're just trying to save yourself now.

David Irving has talent. Is he Julius Peppers? Probably not but he is a guy with upside of being a real gem of a player.

He has the ability to be more than a hold the fort down kind of guy.

What am I saving myself from?

Ummmm..........based on what is your evaluation?

And if your claim is true, then why did the Cowboys say their #1 offseason priority was pass rush? And why were they prepared to draft a DE with the 2nd round pick before they failed? Irvin has been on the team that entire time. Did they just forget he was on the roster?

It's hard not to be worried about the defense. That bring said, I think they were mostly effective last year. They kept the score close through almost every game but ram out of gas in the last one or two possessions after being on the field almost the entire game. No offensive support.

Let's just say my colorful language wasn't directed at that side of the ball last year.

So with your logic, if we had a DE, we shouldnt look to draft another one because we already have one?

Completely off topic but I saw an article that the Jags considered Hardy more of a big DE than a pass rush specialist, which is why they have passed on him to date.

Why wouldn't you always be trying to upgrade your pass rush regardless of who is on your roster? You're not making sense.

The Broncos signed Ware and drafted Shane Ray even though Von Miller was on their roster.

The more the merrier.

If you think he is a jag then just say you think he is a jag but he has shown so far that he can definitely be more than that.

They also said their number 1 priority was pass rush after losing to Green Bay in the 2014-15 season. Priority this season was a backup QB. which they also muffed on.

Yeah i was a little confused at that too. Thats like saying, well, we have DWare, may as well pass on JJ Watt because we already have a DE.....

The team likes Irving at DT (although he's built like a DE) and wanted to be able to play him inside as well as outside. Now, he will have to be at end most of the time... at least until Lawrence comes back.

I wonder how much attention you really pay to the team? It has been pretty well discussed since Dallas picked him up last year that they played him at DT and liked his ability to rush from inside.

You also thought he was a 5th round pick, when it has been discussed plenty (including before the 2015 draft) that he was a good prospect but because of some off the field issues, he likely wouldn't be drafted (and wasn't). Before KC even added him as an UDFA, there were a lot of guys on here that knew him and had wanted to use a late pick on him.

So, I'm not sure how much you really paid attention to... and really, that is your business. But coming in here like you know what Irving is all about and how the team wants to use him is long on opinion and low on actual understanding of the situation, it appears.

Did you even watch the video that @CATCH17 posted?
