I question Collins dedication, work ethic, and love of the game. Not a 10 million a year player IMO and likely pissed Jerry off the last couple years.
Take a 3rd and conditional 5th for him.
We like to pretend that Collins is a 1st round steal we got for nothing.
OL have to have the ability to be coached up, and why Jerry should spend his pocket on the top end OL coaches when they come available.. ask coach @Ranching how hard it is to coach up OL.

Interesting. So maybe this is more about getting a draft pick than cap space; or the team is really that dissatisfied with his performance (which very well could be the case based on 2021).
Draft picks equal rookie contracts, and this team needs to invest in rook contracts if they want to have a chance of staying competitive, even in their own division, esp in their own division since it seems that staying on top of the NFC east is good enough for Jerry.

Terence Steele is a backup JAG. He has no business starting on an NFL team.
Go watch his tape against Bosa and get back. They were 7-1 with Steele starting and the offense looked much better with him. He’s the better player right now period. Noticeable difference in the run game with him playing.

Collins is another one of these guys who I believe this team had playing out of position. To my knowledge he wanted to be a tackle and I’m sure they were being loyal to him but the guy should’ve been at guard.

Worst move possible. Lets lose our #1 receiver, pay franchise $ to a middle of the pack TE, possibly change 3-4 starters on the offensive line in one offseason, keep the trash RB who has zero value to this offense, keep a 40 million a year QB who played no better than our backup journeyman, lose both our starting DEs. This is going to be a fun offseason all because of 2 idiots. The one with the money who paid the other one a lot of money. Keep overpaying for average and youll stay average.

Cooper, Wilson, Collins, Anger, Gregory, D-Law.....

I don't really care about Gregory and D-Law, but we're going to be a shell of last years team lol

9-7

It all depends on what your organisational aims and whether you think we have the resources to achieve that.

2021 was a watershed, we went 12-5 and one and out. The strategy was to beat up the Least, gain enough victories to get home field advantage in the playoffs.....it failed and we've realised that it's not going to work and so it's time to break up the band.

I applaud the decision to accept this unit wont win a Championship/SB and rather than kick the can we choose to retool whilst we can.

Yes it's going to be painful for at least 2022, but lets at least base our future on the one area that we seem to have improved ...... McClay and the draft rather than extending/restructuring injury prone veterans

Take the approach that 2021 (and can kicking didnt work) and we're breaking up the band. If they don't sign Schultz to a $6m per contract for 3/4 years i'd agree it's a baffling decision, but a cheapish TE on a longer contract is meh.

Hyperbole much? Zeke, no value. Dak, no better than backup journeyman. I will let you in on something, I am an slightly overweight 57 year old man; if the Jones family paid me to suit up, I would be the highest paid laughingstock in the NFL.

Zeke made one play all year the one against the Vikings. Dak can't beat a team over 500. We will never win anything with this overpaid, overhyped trash.

It sounds like the Cowboys have been offering Collins in a trade and teams are asking for Steele. According to Cowboys Zone Collins is the much better player.:omg:

Mistake.

That means they think that JAG Steele is a starter.

yup. The kid had 2 good games then was mediocre at best. now they have a spare at RT and a shell of a left tackle that won’t play more than 8 games. Their weakest group will be much weaker.

Based on what? Your personal recollection? Your opinion just proves you don't know what any other RT in the league is doing. The fact is that when La'El played, he was one of the highest graded RTs in the NFL over the season. He is probably the best run blocker at his position in the league. 10M makes him one of the better bargains in the league. Further proof of that is that Dallas is fielding trade offers for him.

Its like all the La'El Collins haters have collected their ignorant opinions in one thread.

If someone else already posted this forgive me.

Trading Collins? I hate it. Guy is a yo yo but when he plays he can dominate. I think the OL is one of the weak links on the team so trading Collins makes zero sense. Am I wrong?

Depends on what we get in return. I do expect Dallas to revamp the OL regardless of Collins being here or not

I am 50-50 on this. So really depends what they get in return.
Or is it just too clear some cap space and rely on Steele to be the guy.
