Jurgens could be a day one starter.

Doubt we’d take him. He’s likely to go in the 2nd or 3rd.

I would be too. It should be obvious the cowboys are taking a WR in the 2nd. Come hell or high water.

In fairness, I think there may be some truth to the idea that maybe something is up with Jermaine Johnson that we don't know about.

If Jerry and Stephen were indeed fielding a few calls for a trade down, I'm curious as to how far down. A guy like Devin Lloyd (LB, Utah) would have been awfully tempting a few picks down, especially if it would have secured another 3rd or 4th. Lloyd and Parsons together would have been intriguing to say the least.

But yes, the OL no doubt needed some attention. Still does probably, at least with quality backups.

At least he may be coachable. Had a 30 on the Wonderlic. Not super excited about the pick, but good size and long arms. Slide him inside at LG and coach him up. Could be good. Maybe grasping at straws, but we have four months to make him into a LG.
Drafted for potential,???

They took a project at 24. It’s just that simple. The comparisons to other first round OL we took is silly because all three - Martin, Smith and Frederick played at power 5 schools and were more polished and accomplished coming out of college.

Smith is significantly more raw an OL prospect than those three.

I will say that I believe the upside with Smith is higher than either of the other two guards (Green or Zion). He just has a lot further to go from a technique standpoint and might not get there.

Who is going to coach him up? Philbin?

You’re not grasping at straws. His game as it is projects well on the inside. He’s powerful and looks like the kind ok player that will hold up well against interior lineman. He’s a long way from being an NFL Tackle. But LG is where I think he can thrive as a rookie.

Zion I like. Green reminds me too much of Chance Warmack. I don’t subscribe to college only OGs in the first round.

He does have upside
Just hope he gets there this season

Don't think they feel as bad about Biadasz as some fans do. I think that's one reason Linderbaum was not a consideration. He's strictly a center and the team doesn't think we need one.
Did they watch any games from last year?
