He’s 6-5. Zach Martin is 6-4.
Stop.
Trash pick regardless of his size. Not excited about a penalty ridden OT project from the AAC.

But I’m saying at end of day Trysten didn’t have marvelous physical gifts. He just fit the prototype of one of the most overrated defensive ‘gurus’ of all time.Ive never said he was a 1st rounder, I said a round early (projected as 3rd and went 2nd, Tyler was projected late 2nd and went 1st). Trysten was soley over-drafted on athletic abillity, he played for a small school and didn't even play that many games (his hype was his arms, his initial burst, and his hustle)
Yes. DisappointingThat has been one thing they've done in the past - cover the gaping holes before the draft so we're not forced to draft for need. This year should be a lesson.
O okBecause you think so doesn’t make it a fact on the Cowboy’s board. You have absolutely no idea where these players were rated on the draft board.
You like the pick. I actually do too. He is only 21.
You wanted a guard, by any means. You should be thrilledJohnson kills me. He’s your bookend with Lawrence and then frees Parsons up to free lance more.
Yep he had to slid for a reasonHas to be a reason we don’t he went from projected top 10 to 26
They wanted to fix their run game, Tyler does that. Tge added bonus is with development he could potentially replace Tyron at LT. There weren’t any other later Guards who have his potential nor the ability to legitimately play left tackle in the future. That may be true (wouldn't be hard to be the strongest on this line) but couldn't you get a G later that would be sufficient. Why not take a player that is ready to come in & be productive at the position you drafted him for? Just seemed like there was talent there that could help you without the obvious risks. Again, I'm not saying he won't turn out good ... just that it seems like the same ole reach we have seen from this group before.
I thought Ball had injury that made it easy decision to IR him.
That was me.You wanted a guard, by any means. You should be thrilled
Lee was always hurt.Yeah but LVE was neck injuries. Neck injuries are a concern for sure.
I don't get why Linderbaum was never a fit. Kind of like Watt. We never learnLloyd and Dean had medical concerns. Lineberbaum was never a fit here and it seems Johnson scared teams away with his attitude.
Trust me, I wanted any of these guys. Just thinking as of why

This team wasn’t going to take LB in round 1. Linderbaum and Johnson are definitely players that I would have considered before Smith. But they got they guy they wanted. He was 1 of the 30 player visits had a private workout so they really liked the player. This pick should not be a surprise. He’s been linked to this team for a while.Different circumstance
There were SEVERAL players still left on the board that carried a higher grade than this guy. Devin Lloyd, Nakobe Dean, Tyler Linderbaum, and Jermaine johnson are all better players than this guy
