I think part of the purpose of draft grades is to manufacture drama. The storylines affect intere$t. The underdog, tough, blue collar Eagles draft the big time names, while their polarizing arch rivals are just Ho-hum. Another year of putting it to the cowboys? I’ll watch that!

That’s great. And a nice optimistic overview . Then you’d really have no interest in critiquing or over analyzing the draft.
Go Cowboys!!
Over analyzing? A time waster. Speculation by those less qualified. I like talking about it, but each player’s path has multiple possible outcomes.

Kiper is not a tv analyst. He's a talent evaluator 365 days year and has been publishing his own draft guide since the mid 70's. There is nobody in todays NFL whose seen and evaluated more players.
And despite it all, he’s more wrong than right.

I don’t think anyone expects to play every snap. But enough to become a staple starter and potential Pro Bowler type talent . Most of all an impact player.
Some positions do play every snap…health permitting.

This forum on the most part is a time waster. Lol

And yes, most of us on here are less qualified. You just don’t like the negative or critique especially if it goes against your view. Shocking:)

I give the first round an A+. Our biggest need on defense was a run stopping 1T and we got the best one in the draft. The rest of it was a C from me, seems like we reached about a round too soon, and the move up to get Eric Scott was baffling. Who knows though, Quinn and McCarthy have put together some nice drafts over the past few years and Quinn especially seems to get a little extra out of his guys. Maybe they know something more than a guy like me that watched like 3 games of college football. Maybe...

I wish I would have kept all my draft guides I bought from back in the day.

One time I called to order my guide and told the lady, if you ever see or talk to Mel to complement him for me.

She said, I SURE WILL. HE IS MY HUSBAND!

:omg:

No doubt it is about drawing attention. The other 31 teams were graded as well. I’m just not overly interested in discussing or critiquing them.

The Egirls did grab some big names in 1st round which is worthy of attention. And unfortunately a big part of the Cowboys viewership is from our hated rivals.

Honestly I’m so little interested in the Egirls draft I couldn’t tell you anyone else they drafted after the 1st round.

I watch about 150 college games a year but probably only familiar with about 10%-20% of the draft picks. A greater percentage from Power 5 conferences and most from Big 12.

The biggest factor we don’t know is all of the priorities and needs for all 32 teams. I think that’s what these analyst are best at providing .

You say that, but you’ll argue all day long. Shocking indeed.

And I don’t like the CONSTANT, NONSTOP negativity. I’m here to enjoy football.

Yeah, it’s why I generally eyeroll ratings and rankings.

There is no football to enjoy here. That only happens while watching the games which we don’t ever enjoy together.

These forums IMO have nothing to do with our enjoyment of watching football games which is a completely different entertainment value.

This time spent discussing Cowboys has no correlation or impact to my enjoyment of watching all of the football I do.

I’m not sure why we’d connect our enjoyment of watching football to our critical thinking of discussing all of the factors involved.

You take your opinions too seriously. Football is A GAME. This forum is A DIVERSION. I try to enjoy it here. We’re not paid analysts. Holy crap, man, GET A GRIP! Do you know what you sound like? If you put a lump of coal up your butt, do you get diamonds?

I think this forum is different things for different people. And I do enjoy it here. Except for those who take criticism of our team and moving parts personal. I’d argue you take my opinions too seriously.

Argue the subject matter not the fans. If you love the draft. Bring your argument why you love it not how much you despise those which disagree with.

I’m here to vent my frustrations ,voice my criticisms and concerns on the most part. I don’t care whether you like me or not. That’s always been my entire basis here. If my argument suks then discredit it not me for waging it.

And yes, football is a game but the NFL is a business first. The games are fun but not necessarily everything that goes into it or surrounds it.

I AM discrediting your argument! This is a business first for those who make their living at it!

And patrons of this business aren’t allowed to present criticisms and concerns ?

Some fans want to separate the game from the business but unfortunately it’s all intertwined together.

We try to escape the business surrounding it for 60 minutes each game for our entertainment value but it’s difficult for the remainder of time.
