Yea, I applaud us for finally prioritizing DT in 1st round but many think Mazi was somewhat of a reach at #26. If he becomes a staple starter then it doesn’t matter . Solid pick.

And yea, I’d agree. Not a deep talented draft. Which would explain why we saw so much movement from teams moving up to get a player.
So if he's a reach at 26 when do you take him?? If Kansas wanted him (and Brugler had him going to Saints in his last mock), when do you pull the trigger on such a player....probably at the end of the 1st Rd of a mediocre draft. Unless you prefer a DE, that'll share snaps with Tank, Micah, Armstrong, Fowler and Sam.

Yeah besides Mazi, Fisher thinks the rest of the draft picks are special team players and backups. What is his agenda?
Its that he just cant accept change I think. Hes stuck in his ways. It goes back to his ties with Jerry. God forbid a fan questions Fish or has a differing take. The entire get off my lawn thing he has going isnt fan conducive. Deuce will make him eat his words. He also squashed Richards chances.

That USA Today writter was clueless on the Cowboys draft. Wrote it like a hater would. Do these guys research before they publish???LOL
I saw it. It was terrible. like the writer was in the building. Was weird.

Yeah at the beginning but as injuries start happening they all might get reps especially Overdshown, Fehoko, and Richards.
I realise it's early, but has anyone identified which, if any, of the picks are likely to make a contribution this year (outside of 1st and 2nd picks).

very vanilla draft but what concerns me is Phiily -the 1st place team in our division and SB team had an excellent draft. Philly is building and as aggressive as we were in the Jimmy years

Fisher has not seen any of these guys play. Broaddus said it best. They are old crusties.

I think late in the year Schoonmaker will begin to show out. Ferguson will start.

The draft is over; the UDFA list is virtually complete. Time to stop talking about all of that and see what these players can do on the field. The time to stop discussing potential and start discussing actual results has arrived.

Maybe you don’t take him. Maybe you take your second priority position of higher talent level at 26 and then trade up if necessary in 2nd round.

B-C range sounds right to me. The guys they drafted were not flashy, impact players.

That said— if Mazi anchors at 1T long term, Schoonmaker hits as an all around quality starter at TE in the Witten-mold, Overshown fills a Kearse-like role, and Fehoko develops into a quality piece along the DL, and Deuce hits as a big play, gadget player— this draft easily will turn into an A.

Richards and Scott have potential as well. Not a flashy class, but we landed some guys who can excel at certain roles that can help us win a lot of games

My biggest concern is WR. We are still really thin there and are one injury away from being exactly where we were last year. I hope Tolbert steps up, but that’s hard to see at this point.
I think when you factor in two 5th round picks Gilmore and Brandon Cooks than you take Mazi a huge need and the fact
they added an excellent blocking TE, a very athletic hybrid LB in Overshon along with two RB/FB that WILL make this team in
Vaugnn and Luepke two nice tools for the Offense overall I would say B+

Caring about draft grades is a lesson in futility. Most of these people that release draft grades don't have the guts to go back and look at their grades after 3 years.

Release your current draft grades and then follow up with how your grades hold up after three years and I am more apt to pay attention.
