Cowboys draft needs?

The trend for tight ends these days is an Ertz or Kelce - more receiver than blocker. Jarwin seems to fit the bill, I'd prefer they develop him and Schultz and draft another position in the second round..

That seems likely. Blocking is effort and technique which can be taught/developed.

DT is the biggest need IMO and given the quality in this draft it could be our ideal 2nd round target
The TE position could improve even if Jarwin & Shultz did show progressed
OT is a need, could be OG if we move Williams to Tackle.
WR is a sneaky need given Tavon & Beasley are uncontracted and Hurns is a potential cut candidate.

2nd - NT - Woods is best as a backup
3rd - RE - Crawford needs to be able to fully play 3T and the team doesn’t trust Gregory to play run downs.
4th- SS - Heath is TERRIBLE
4th - SAM - Wilson likely gone
5th - 7th BPA

We did it with Chido and Lewis when that class was loaded at CB and we needed help in the secondary.

It’s not the norm, but not out of the question.

We didn’t say let’s draft cb’s in the 2nd and 3rd round and take 2 guys for the sake of it.

We took 2 of the BPA when we picked

Absolutely, but I’m sure when we built our board it was a lot of CBs near the top so it being a big nerd and how much talent was in the draft.

I’d hope our board will be DT heavy in April.

Safety, OT, OG/C, interior DL. TE, slot WR, change of pace RB, and a true blocking FB, in any order they fall IMO. Give or take whatever we do in free agency. This team normally adds guys to cover needs in free agency so they can draft BPA.

I'd agree with that, but I think being this close and having some money for once this might be a position they address in FA.

You can damn near apply the loss to the DT position in this game, and when you consider Irving will be gone, Crawford in question I don't think they go into the draft without addressing it. Now with that being said how much emphasis do they apply to that in FA is going to be the question.

They realized not addressing the WR position "Dak Friendly" almost killed them, and this is why I think they look to address the skill player positions along the offensive side. With that being said how this is addressed should be answered within the next month by how they address OC, because if they keep Linehan don't look for much, but if they move onto someone who is more of a dynamic play caller you might see a huge adjustment.

I think much of our needs will be figured out before the draft, and telling signs will be there for us moving forward into the season as well.
