The thought of us having to play yet another Week 17 game, flexed into prime time for all the world to see, is nauseating. The odds that we have to do it three years in a row, they must be astronomical. I mean, I would be stunned if there were more than 5 of these type games in the history of the NFL, and we are on track to have played in 3 of them... in a row! Ridiculous.

hey man there's still a possibility that the week 16 game AT the skins will be a must win game too. that scenario is 100x worse.

I know, it would be. It's funny we would be worried about that game seeing as how they are 3-9, but we are. The good news is that the Eagles fans are probably sweating about going to Minnesota while we are already giving them a win.

Im saying I could see Dallas losing 2 of their next 3 and Philly winning all 3 of these games they have.

If we drop the Monday Nighter and Rodgers comes back then I kind of expect this.

It is sounding more and more like Packers will just sit Rodgers rest of the year. He likely will not play this weekend as well at ATL and seeing how they likely need to win out and finish 9-6-1 to have a shot at winning that division and hope detroit/Chicago lose some games, a loss against the falcons would mean he is not playing against us IMO.

I see our schedule matchups as being slightly tougher on us than the Eagles. They have three out of four games at home while we play the Bears on the road with the possible return of Jay Cutler and the Packers at home with the possible return of Aaron Rodgers. Be that as it may, we'll be obliged to play our best football from here on out, no matter who our opponent is. This Cowboys team will be severely tested, that's for sure. It would be an extremely gratifying sight to see our guys showing signs of taking a big step forward in their play from now on.

If the eagles beat the lions and we lose to the bears its game over for us. These are the most telling games for each team.

It's not game over. We still have the division because as long as we stay one game behind the Eagles or better and with another head to head with the Eagles we have a chance to win the division. It's not telling anything except we lost a tough road game with 3 games left to go.

I think that is our best case scenario.

I know it's dumb to give anyone a W or L before the games are played but I think Philly could wrap up this division in the next 3 weeks.

For that to happen, Philly would have to win the next 3 (7 straight overall) and we lose 2. Right now that's a long shot to say the least and even though I don't think it will happen, if we win the next 3 (@CHI, vs GB and @WSH) and Philly loses 1.......We win the division, reguardless of week 17

As it stands right now, I like our remaining schedule better than I like the Eagles. We both have the Bears. I'd rather play a packed-up GB team that *might* not have a QB in the lineup than the Lions right now. I'd rather play the Sk*ns at home than the Vikes at home, too. And, of course, that week 17 game is in Dallas, and we've got the nod with the tie-breakers as of now.

A lot can happen, and I was counting on an AZ victory this weekend, but this looks like a division that's going to come down to the wire, again. The NFL must be pretty pleased with how the season schedule worked out again here for Cowboys/Eagles.

Are you really being objective when you say this? That would require the Cowboys to be 2 games back from the Eagles when they play them. The Cowboys would have to lose 3 in a row for this scenario to be even remotely possible.

If we lose and they win and go a game ahead we will not catch them.

How do you guys see this playing out? It seems like every game for us is vital. The Eagles are hot right now and I could see them possibly clinching the division before they even play us.

With the way our defense plays I think we could easily have 2 more losses left in us before we even see the Eagles.

Thoughts?

Quite honestly, I'm starting to get the feeling that we are going to crash and burn like years past. It's hard not to get the feeling. We haven't beat a team over .500 this year, we have looked bad against most of the teams below .500, and Philly is hot right now. Odds are, either they win the division before we play them or it comes down to the last game of the season and it is a win and you're in game. We don't do so well in those high pressure "win and you're in" games either.

Just something to consider.

We have one more win and three more losses to get us to our normal 8-8 standing under JG as HC.

Will this year be the year we break that trend under JG?

I am not going to get hopeful for it to be any different than the last two years. I will not bring myself up to getting all hopeful only for lucy to pull that football away and I fall on my backside again ala Charlie Brown.

Nope. I expect the 8-8 season movie to play again and will be very happy if we change it and turn it into something more positive.

I honestly feel the Lions are going to beat Philly this coming Sunday though. They are in a perfect place to win their division and have the fire power and defense to beat Philly. I would love it if we beat the Bears and Philly loses to the Lions.

I know they havent played that well but I have a feeling the game @ Minnesota is going to be tough for philly. If we beat Chicago I believe we'll run the table, but its going to be close.

This goes to show you how important some of those early season losses were. While everyone said it didnt matter because they werent division losses I knew they would come back to possibly haunt us.
That loss to the Lions looms extremely large. A game we had won and gave away may very easily be the difference between playing a wild card game or watching it on TV.

Interesting. I'm guessing we win 2 out of our final 4 to get us to 9-7 but NOTHING would surprise me either. If anything, I'm just hoping we get a chance to play Philly for the division. But yeah, we have all seen this movie before.

Philly has won 4 straight. I wouldn't say that is inconsistent.

Im worried that they will have this division clinched.

We can't stop legit QB's and im sure all of these injured QB's on our schedule will be ready to play when we come to town.

I don't think we could stop legit QBs. But I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll see a much improved pass defense from here on out. With Lee coming back, Wilcox getting his legs back under him and the emergence of Heath (I'm really starting to like this guy), not to mention the return of Hatcher and Ware, I think this pass defense could start to look much better over the next couple of weeks. Yes, I know we weren't particularly good when we had all those guys before but I'm hopeful thinks will gel a bit better this time around.

And I really don't think Rodgers is going to play us, a broken collarbone can be a dangerous thing if not allowed to fully heal and I just think the Packers' organization has seen the writing on the wall. We'll see.

Regardless this Bears game is a monster game for us and if my memory serves me right we usually stink when we come back from Thanksgiving.

I think it's more likely Dallas wraps it up in the next 3 weeks.
