I will answer with this quote from our GM:

"He’s a thing of beauty on throwing a football. His passing motion and his arm, frankly, you won’t see a more gifted passer, power, accuracy, the entire aspect of it."

– Jerry Jones on Brandon Weeden.

I won't disagree with a word of that, and he showed the same in Houston. Where I think he is led off path, is his inability to clarify a target early and deliver the ball to the reciever's catchable area. He is slow reacting and gets caught in the pocket area compromised.

He's awful. His record in Cleveland and Dallas speaks for itself. "The entire aspect of it" is that of a substandard player.

The team continues to rely on unreliable players. And that extends to the offense as well. Randle was their chosen replacement for Murray, how'd that work out? They put all of their eggs in Romo's basket, without a viable backup, how's that looking right now? And the fact that they even talk about Lance Dunbar shows that they still don't get that the guy gets seriously injured every time they use him!

The amount of status quo being employed by a 4-12 team amazes me.

But yet you want Hardy back.

Sorry, you are talking apples to oranges...the first observation does not contain the conclusion drawn. You are leaving out completely, the why aspect. Both in time in Dallas and with Cleveland. Just what kind of team was Cleveland during that time as well?

If one wishes to just bad mouth a player and blame Jerry, this is the wrong forum for doing just that.

Either way, your quarter on those issues.

Ramsey and Jones at safety excites me, I look at the Packers addressing their safety position in the past couple drafts and I'm jealous. Both look to be solid players.
.

I echo this, but if you have them at Safety you need some monster LB's who can tackle with range and lay the wood.

Why aspect? Why did he fail in Dallas with the same team Romo didnt?

That has already been described...

All because you sign Rolando McClain and Claiborne does not mean we won't be looking at linebackers in the draft. If you can get McClain for cheap, sign him.

There are only about 3 solid starting CBs in this FA, and you need all 3 of them will be getting good contracts. So, we let Claiborne walk and cut Carr, you better hope you hit on a solid rookie corner and sign one of those big CB FA.

Both would be good signings for us.

Great post!

These signings would not prevent us from trying to improve those positions.

This is simply us being smart. You can't go into FA and the draft with glaring needs or you overpay.

Is he not the most accomplished of the free agents? If nothing else, Greg Hardy has actually done some things in this league. I don't attempt to paint him as a role model or choir boy, but the same means to an end that they signed up for last year.

But once his suspension was over, Hardy was out there every week, wasn't he?

Save a draft pick. His play should be closer to 2014 than 2015 this year.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm expecting him to be better thus coming year and I would rather it be for Dallas than the team using their first rounder or overspending on some free agent.

But the pessimist in me can see the Cowboys drafting Joey Bosa instead of the quarterback at #4 and then trying to tell me that the team is better off.

Right. How can anyone hate this move? This just means your team will be even deeper when you factor in the draft and free agency. Its like people don't think logical when it comes to the Cowboys. Let those guys go out there and compete for a starting job. How is that a bad thing? These moves will not effect what we do in the draft. We have to field a team. Claiborne and McClain were good enough to be retained and should be brought back on decent contracts.

I'd wouldn't be upset with retaining McClain or Claiborne.. They are both still relatively young talented football players. Both have had shaky starts to their careers.. Neither have tapped into their true potential for one reason or their other. I'd take 'em back at the right price. I'd hate to see Claiborne finally stay healthy and finally be Great on another team.
I think we're able to keep McClain, but Claiborne will chase the money and start fresh somewhere else. Make no mistake, another team will pay him. I am glad to see the Boys move on from Hardy. This is the ultimate team sport.. You can't have a polarizing guy like Hardy dividing the locker room.

I wouldn't take either of these two back if not for vet minimum. We have got to stop relying on unreliable players...... i.e. RoMac, Claifarce, even Gregory...

Except he missed meetings which displays character issues which is what you were complaining about. That's the definition of being hypocritical. You can't have it both ways.

Where was I "complaining about" "character issues"? Please quote that post for me.
