This is a big game to kick off October . At end of day we could either be tied for 1st or in dead last .

And after all of the hype this offseason I don’t think many visualized a 1-3 start. Especially if Dak and this high powered offense were rolling.

We might look at 0-3 Houston as an easier opponent to get well but I’d caution as they are in a much more desperate must win mode .

And our defense could be just the remedy for their struggling offense while their defense is enough to slow our potent offense.

Texans begun 0-3 last year finishing 12-2 on way to playoffs. And are only team in NFL history to overcome 0-3 twice to make playoffs. Only 1 team has made playoffs in NFL history after 0-4 start, 92 Chargers.

While 1-3 will ignite some dumpster fires I’d suggest it’s simply a bad matchup and circumstances for us. I look for Rams to knock off Egirls and we’d only be one game back. And we can get well next Thursday at home against Tampa bouncing back to 2-3.

Most likely based on our continued defensive woes hovering around .500 might be all we can expect and hope for which might be enough to stay in WC contention. Maybe.

Need to win and have PHI lose to LA, this would tie us for first place maybe 0.5 games back as they have a division game on us but would put us in great shape. It might be the biggest game of the season. MM always used to say that the NFL is played in quarters and we're coming close to the end of the first quarter and it's one of those things where if we don't buckle up now against these easy opponents we'll be neck and neck for WC in week 17 likely with losses to key teams.

You’re forgetting about the 2-1 Giants who have AZ today.

NYG continue to be a surprise but M not as concerned about keeping pace with them as Phi.

I think the schedule will eventually catch up with NY. And not having their QB.

And also if the Commanders win and Giants lose, its a 2-2 logjam at the top of that juggernaut NFC Least.
True.

I’m thinking NY could be only one with a win in division today but why we play the games.

I’d feel very fortunate if we were only 1 game back at 1-3.

But with this team my eye is more on WC.

It's funny. In the NFCE this year, I'm not sure this is even all that big of a game. Eagles likely lose this week and probably next week. Even if the Giants win this week, are we worried about being 2 games behind the Giants with their QB situation? We aren't likely going to be all that great this year, but our division stinks, so we have plenty of time to get things right and still win it.

Meh.......... Dallas will probably win today and a couple things will happen:

the koolaide drinkers will be rushing back to a travel agent to purchase tickets to Los Angeles for February 14. The second thing will be the Stans etching #4's name onto the MVP trophy, followed by week long postings of Dak stats being shoved down everyone's throats.

Gotta love the zone.

Or 2-2 start

All situations carry general two possible outcomes

Some bigger pictures get more complicated.

I think today is very important. Get a win and the head coaches blunder in Rio is much more easily forgotten instead of snowballing for the worse.

Shoddy could lose the room quickly if things head south.

It’s no easy win if that’s what you’re saying.

Baltimore is probably better than Houston, but this game isn’t likely to be much easier than last week. That’s just how the league is….not who you play, but when you play them.

I was in that same building for Houston’s first game ever and I was honestly never more humiliated than I was that day. No way am I taking a win there for granted.

Notice all the sad commentary on the hopeful results of other teams in our division. If the Eagles lose, if the Giants lose, if the Commanders lose. Our eventual placing in the division based on our rivals IFs and BUTs.
What an indictment of this once proud franchise where we have to depend on every other team's failures because we are incapable of succeeding on our own merits.

Beautifully worded.
Well said.

Thanks to Jerry this is what the fanbase has been reduced to. When you can't depend on your own team showing up and taking care of business you have to hope the rest of your division sucks. It's the only way Dallas has a chance to succeed.

11-6 in the playoffs

10-7 probably in the playoffs

Simple math

Just a little longer road then if 3-1

Go Cowboys!
