There's multiple ways to build a team. How many times did the Patriots draft at the top of the draft right before and during their run? What about the Chiefs? I get the philosophy investing in a QB earlier in the draft, but having high draft picks in a tank scenario doesn't always yield the results you hope for. Ask the Jets, Bears, and Panthers fans how the tanks have been going.I see various debates over winning vs optimizing draft position. Here’s a little nugget for the win and worry about draft position later crowd.
Do you think it’s merely coincidence that our three time SB winning QB was drafted #1 overall and we drafted at the very top of the draft for multiple years in a row? 92, 93 and 95 SBs were a direct result of drafting at the top of the draft.
Almost 30 years later Jerry insists on drafting in the middle since then to “remain relevant” and we have zilch to show for it. Do you think that is merely coincidence too?
58.8% of super bowl winning QBs were drafted in the first round.outliers dude. The VAST majority of SB winning QBs were drafted in the first rd
Those two fellas weren't drafted by inept management. Our QB needs to be good enough to overcome a lot of flaws in strategy. Those two fellas won a lot of them.
What's real interesting is Dallas should get stronger as the other teams get weaker. Not gonna lie, if we beat the Bengals I'll be looking forward to the Panthers game for sure, and if we win again I'll probably be a little too excited for Tampa.
If nothing else it'll be some fun in a season I wasn't enjoying. I mean as it is now I'm already way more interested to see the Bengals game than I expected to be. I have to thank WINNING for that.
If we would have only drafted Dak in the 1st instead of the 4th.58.8% of super bowl winning QBs were drafted in the first round.
Dallas was 1st team to start 0-2 then go on to win the SBThat is a pathetic joke. SHOW a team that was 3-7 winning it all EVER.
Yes and no.Football is about winning games and trying to make the playoffs, not losing to improve your draft position.
Not the same.Dallas was 1st team to start 0-2 then go on to win the SB
Keep up the hate, it is comical.
so what? There are like TWENTY plus others that say they are outliersThose two fellas won a lot of them.
keep up the stupid posts, you deserve the ridiculeDallas was 1st team to start 0-2 then go on to win the SB

Isn't it past your bedtime? I hear you Mommy calling you.so what? There are like TWENTY plus others that say they are outliers
For me it’s no. You can come up with a great player later in the first round. Go research the top 10 and see how many players went bust or became just average players. Our last top 10 pick went bust.Yes and no.
There’s no reward for being the very worst. The top pick in the draft won’t turn you around if you’re that bad, even if you draft a great player. You're rewarded for being the very best, and rewarded for being the very worst. As long as that continues, it will be about both.
What this team will do. Is somehow beat Cincy. Then lose to Carolina.

you still in the basement with the lights out?Isn't it past your bedtime? I hear you Mommy calling you.
blundering around for thirty years does not get it done eitherThere’s no reward for being the very worst. The top pick in the draft won’t turn you around if you’re that bad, even if you draft a great player.
Had we done that, we wouldn't have drafted Zeke. Dak would not be the QB on our team today. If we would have only drafted Dak in the 1st instead of the 4th.
