we have had such incredible hires under garrett on Defense, Rob Ryan, monte Kiffin and Rod Marinelli.

Then they compounded it by playing this dumb scheme and missing over and over and over on defensive players in the draft and free agency.
This is precisely why the problem goes above Marinelli and even Garrett. Too much attention is placed on Jerry's supposed meddling and not enough on his inability to build a defense this team can lean on.

Definitely a hole in our game this year.

I salute you sir.
Been a fan for 40.
I am 48. Lol. I became a fan of the Cowboys in 84. Moved to northern NJ. Giants and Jets fans were morons. Cowboys were on TV every week. Plus my Dad raised me Cowboy. I was conceived at FT Hood, TX.

This franchise's beliefs on the safety position have held back the team for years.

I do think it has finally changed though.

Maybe. They were that close to trading for ET in 2018 to all of a sudden ignore the spot again the following offseason.

Wilson may make a cool tackle and they'll convince themselves they have another diamond in the rough find

Well if the CBs would just turn their heads when the ball is coming I guarantee that chances of INTs go up at 50%.

It is unbelievably strange to me that virtually all our CBs refuse to turn and look for the ball... you’d think it is a basic skill, but not in Dallas

That's because our feckless defenders are too busy trying to catch up to the receivers.

Based on what?
The two (reported) offers for Earl Thomas.

6 of our 30 visits in 2019 were safeties.

Rumors of half the room wanting Thornhill over Trysten.

Free agent visits with Clayton Geathers and Eric Berry.

Trade deadline day inquiry of Jamal Adams.

Just seems like they are starting to acknowledge the deficiency.

Sad thing is in total yards allowed, and passing yards allowed we are in the top 10... like 14th in rushing yards allowed... so that goes to show you how stats do not paint the picture lol.

All smoke and mirrors. They are good about show but short on nerve.

The thought after the draft from trusted sources was they were picking Thornhill until marinelli entered the equation. I believe David Moore had an article about it that he was told this by his sources.
