33 point average against the East even though we managed only 9 points against the Eagles in one game?
37.4 in the other 5 games. So color me not impressed with the Wentz miraculous finish. Those teams are simply awful beyond words.

In yards, which don't matter.

This needs to end. No one cares how many yards a team has. Points are what matter.

They were 6th in offense in points per game, but they also had one of the easiest schedules in football and those points largely came against trash teams. Context matters.

So size doesn't matter...

Yep, this was about as inconsistent season as you'll ever witness. And I completely agree with you on the spurts of poor play. I sometimes wondered what the hell I was watching out there!
Aikman summed it all up really well.

Many key games over the years where Garrett's offenses failed to show up: 44-6, 34-3 season ending drubbings come to mind.
I’m not a Garrett supporter at all and I know about those 2 in particukar one to the eagles and I’m guessing the other was to the Brett Favre vikes but the statement I was wondering about was that his record against teams with winning records. I know it’s factual for this year I just wasn’t sure if it was a trend

not just those win and get in games in which I know he and Romo struggled with early

It wasn't just struggling. It was the offense flat out failing to even register in multiple big contests, like single digit point total bad performances.

First time we’ve finished #1 since 1977. That year we won the SB. Two 1,000 yard WR’s, and the most for a 3rd WR ever with Cobb over 800. Zeke finished 4th in rushing. 2019 was also the most yards we have ever had in any season.

All of that for 8-8. Shouldn’t be hard to find a HC. The question, will Jerry hire the right one?
Need a defensive guru to take this team over who has a strong connection to an innovative offensive mind/QB development specialist. I would not mind if Kitna was brought back by the new HC.

it’s ok I’ll loOk it up. You said it’s a trait of a Garrett coached team to beat under 500 teams and lose to above 500 teams and I agree that’s true for this year I was just asking if that’s a trend his entire career

I mean he’s going to finish over 500 here so I was wondering if your statement was accurate for every year as well

I know he’s not a big game coach that’s a fact as well

#1 offense + @top-10 defense = 8-8...?

:muttley::facepalm:

Once again...the only stat that REALLY matters is the final score. More often than not (lol), if you end up on the plus-side in this stat, you’ll be in the playoffs.

A lot like when JG was leading the offense with Wade and than got thumped by Minny.

A LOT of those yards came with games out of reach against defenses just trying to keep everything in bounds. The whole world knows we did not have the best offense in football. Not even close. Dak feasted on some of the worst teams in the NFL and garbage time.

We also had the largest point differential (points scored vs points allowed) in the super bowl era ..........of teams who didn't make the playoffs.

On top of everything else they had the worst starting field position in the league due to worst ranked ST in the league also meant they also had to cover more yards every drive.

I assume you are referencing the Cowboys only here. There have been other teams that have had three 1000 yard WRs.

Oh I know.......I just made this post to show how pathetic we are. All the great teams around here and this team topped them all?! Embarrassing

It would have been even weirder if we had division champ hats on last night.

Its the least deserving Id have ever felt of a division crown. I actually reached a point had we squeaked into the playoffs and pulled off a miracle Superbowl run I still wanted these coaches fired. Thats crazy, but I know I spent way too much of this season pissed off and shaking me head. Cant do it again.

Yep. All those garbage time yards for the “#1” offense in the league. Whoop de do!
That’s a lame argument. With that logic, the Bengals should have had the number one offense.
