Another thing that we DIDNT do consecutively was lead the league in penalties like we did in 2021. They really improved on that stat in 2022

unfortunately, all the 2022 Interceptions by the receivers, lineman, coaches, ball boys and hot dog vendors kind of offset that.

So where did the 49ers defense rank coming into the game? Dak haters act like he struggled against a bad defense. He was going up against better one than Purdy was. Am I wrong?
Nothing on offense clicked that game, Dak was off, run game was off, just depressing to watch. I mean credit to their defense but damn that was weird to watch after we massacred the bucs and they werent no slouch either despite their record.

20 years ago? What the hell are you talking about? Stafford just led the league in interceptions with 17 TWO SEASONS AGO. Jamies Winston just led the league with 30 interceptions…..if you’re clueless just say that. 30 years ago….yeah Winston who is 31 years old led the league in interceptions with 30…..a joke lol.
I didn't bother looking it up, but I know Eli Manning was no stranger to completing passes to the opposing team's DBs. I thought he had a season with 22 INTs if my memory serves me correctly.

They took away everything we loved to do and when Pollard went out we just stood no chance. To me that shouldn’t happen. Not look that bad.

The Bucs were absolutely a slouch and complete garbage last season. They hobbled into the play-offs "despite their record" and were worse than the Packers were, when we lost to them in 2016 at home.

No wonder we have gone back to back with 12 wins. . . Imagine if Dak had more help. . . poor Dak
Remember when the Dak zealot were trying to blame a "statistically insignificant" starting field position for Dak's inability to put up points a few years back. Now the zealots are saying it's the defenses fault for "not stopping" bad teams, as if Dak wasn't chucking INTs regularly to the Texans and other bums. It's almost like the defense didn't hold the 49ers to a FG after Dak through that awful pick in scoring territory on the sideline that the Dak zealots tried to blame on Gallup not being able to stop instantaneously on a dime, like Flash, and jump in front of the DB who had perfect positioning to pick off such a horrible comeback throw.

It's also pretty comical, as those defensive scores off TOs the year prior also contributed to the "number 1 ranked scoring offense", because defensive scores, let alone TOs that put the offense in scoring position, are counted among scoring offense. Without it, the offensive scoring would have been about 5 if I remember correctly.

What's unique about the Cowboys' turnovers this past season - they were the only team to recover more fumbles from the opposition than getting interceptions - 16 INTs, 17 FBL.
Most of the other 31 teams had a ratio of 1.2:1 to 1.7:1 interceptions to fumbles from the opposition.

Not only that, the Cowboys offense has been the highest scoring (29.1 ppg) the last two years.

How they've not managed more postseason success during that time is hard to believe.

Their dline and corners were still good, they were 7th in sacks. Offense they slouched quite a bit.

What really makes this fact exciting are the seasons leading up to 2021 and 2022.

The Cowboys have been historically inept before 2021 when it came to turnovers. This is especially true when it came to INT's. They were terrible, even in some of their best seasons. In the previous six seasons, they had 10 or less INT's.

Cowboys takeaways rank by season:

2011 16
2012 28
2013 13
2014 2
2015 32
2016 19
2017 16
2018 16
2019 25
2020 7
2021 1
2022 1

Cowboys INT rank by season:

2011 17
2012 31
2013 17
2014 7
2015 30
2016 27
2017 24
2018 26
2019 30
2020 23
2021 1
2022 7

From 2011 to 2022, less than half of the INT's were by CB's, 44.9%. The leading interceptor for that 9 year period was Sean Lee.

For 2021 to 2022, two thirds of the INT's were by CB's, led by You-Know-Who.
