When Greg Hardy came to the Cowboys last season, the hire stirred up controversy. He was forced to sit out the first four games last season after a he was connected to a domestic violence case in Carolina.

In an interview with ESPN's Adam Schefter, Hardy is saying that he has never put his hands on any women. ESPN on Monday published a preview of the interview, set to air on ESPN2's NFL Live at 1:30 p.m Tuesday.

Hardy: "I've never put my hand on ANY women ... In my whole entire life, No Sir. That's just not how we're raised. As you can tell, like I said again, it's the Bible belt. It's just something that's, I wouldn't even say frowned upon, just something that's nonexistent in most southern homes."

Schefter: "You say you did nothing wrong, you're innocent and yet the pictures of her that surfaced would seem to suggest a woman who had some type of physical contact. How do you explain that?"

Hardy: "I will stop you there and say that I didn't say that I didn't do anything wrong. That situation occurred and that situation was handled but ... saying that I did nothing wrong is a stretch but saying I am innocent is correct. Yes sir."

Schefter: "Did you ever put your hands on her?"

Hardy: "No Sir ... No Sir."

Hopefully Schefter asks him questions about his season in Dallas. How was he accepted in the locker room? Does he think he was a distraction? Did he have issues with Coaches, players, staff, front office people or teammates?

Because everybody waits two years to publicly deny false claims of domestic violence.

It's not like he had a free forum to speak on the matter. It's kind of hard to speak out when everyone has you already painted as guilty. Well people like you. So what do you want him to do. Does it really matter anyway if he spoke and denied it a week after, a month after, a few months after, a year after.? You still wouldn't believe him anyway.

He denied it in court too. You know where it should be actually arbitrated.

And he was found guilty before he paid her off to go away.

If I'm wrongly accused of a felony, I'm on every show all day to clear my name. That's what innocent people do.

Especially if it's costing me $50 million and my reputation.

He was found guilty ok but that wasn't your point. You said that he waited two years to deny it when he didn't.

I didn't paint him as guilty. He was FOUND guilty.

And he had a huge forum to say so. The biggest.

I am more worried about tardiness and lack of effort last season.

So you don't think the NFL and 32 teams agree with me? They have information that you and I don't.

From that snippet I get the feeling he is about to make things worse for himself. If he doesn't make a team this year that would be quite the statement.

Yeah we know he was found guilty but being found guilt doesn't mean you ARE guilty and it doesn't mean he was guilty for what he is denying. People are found guilty and then out to be false accused later on.

I don't know let's wait and see first. The season hasn't started and his career isn't over right now. And yeah they do have more information than you and I so why don't you follow your advice and stop making assumptions that they agree with you.

I want to say, for the record, that Hardy blew it in Dallas and that I don't want him back.

But I'll also say, I've always suspected he didn't really do the things he was accused of the way they were alleged. From day-one he's acted like he was being wronged and it was a really tough pill for him to swallow. I'm not defending his involvement in any where there, because I don't know what happened, only saying that his public behavior has always seemed like a guy who was frustrated with the situation and believed he was being treated unfairly.

Oh, and I have to lol at least once at the idea that domestic violence is something that's 'non-existent in most Southern homes.' I mean, it probably is in 'most' homes, but it's prevalent in enough of them and the 'Southern' thing has very little to do with it.

Based on the Cowboys not really showing interest in re-signing him, I would say either his asking price is too high (which doesn't make much sense) or there were definitely some issues. You don't let a guy walk away in his prime unless his cost isn't worth his production or his headaches.
