Cowboys halftime show was horrible

Man...that halftime show was horrible. Is that the only artist we can afford? I don't even know who he is.

Country ain't the same, went from Strait, Jones and Haggard to guys like this Church dude, more image than substance(i.e. Sunglasses, whats the deal with that?).

The problem with Aretha's version is the context. People are blood-thirsty for football action. So it comes across self-indulgent, tedious...even torturous to dive into a 5 minute rendition.

In a different mood...different context her version might be awesome.

Halftime is for bathroom breaks and food and drink refills ----- only thing i like about em I cannot stand the superbowl halftime shows

Halftime shows are meant to be mute and a good time to serve food and take bathroom breaks.

What a horrible track record.

It was a bad day for music. Compared to Andy Grammer, Eric Church and Aretha Franklin's butchering of the national anthem, Dez and Norman's chirping sounded like songbirds.

I was just going to say that at least Eric Church's halftime performance wasn't near as bad as Aretha Franklin's version of the National Anthem at the beginning of the Vikings-Lions game yesterday.

Fair point. At some points what she sang didn't even sound like the anthem

Didn't think much of that either. But when was the last time any of those half-time shows were any good?

I imagine it's just hard to pull off...scrambling to get the staging together in 5 minutes, bolting onto the stage... acoustics are bad...etc.

half-time shows almost always suck. I'm sure they could have booked a bigger name, but really, even the bigger name acts suck these days (grumpy old man opinion).

Prince and Tom Petty are the only ones I have not immediately fast forwarded through that I can think of.

Never saw the halftime show, bathroom break, refilled my drink and attacked a couple slices of pie.......pumpkin and pecan with a dollop of whipped cream. My halftime was plenty entertaining and delicious!

Like with anything, they'll get the most popular watered down crap that appeals to a large audience.
