Cowboys have $18.84 million cap carry over

The Henry situation just showed that Jethro knew all along that this team was not close.

Not signing Henry isn’t what bothers me.

Not even CALLING in the first place is the issue, and tells you plenty about these two.

They will only go with exactly what they know. Ezekiel Elliott is perfect proof of that.

Every GM in the league should check in on EVERY free agent just to do so, and also be familiar with every single player in the league. Think the two billionaires do that? Not even close. They just overrule the people that actually do, so no one vision or direction is followed. My way this time, your way next time…..etc

That’s why the plan appears to be all over the map.

The next thing Jerry will do is overcompensate for the failed non-Derrick Henry move, just like he did with failing to draft Randy Moss and then overcompensating with the Joey Galloway trade. Prepare to lose important draft capital in this years and next years draft to acquire Jeanty.

You think so? I think it was a ego move. Because you sign Henry regardless. Your job is to upgrade your team. You won 12 games last year....you are cheap and you bargain bin. But for some reason they would rather bargain bin for Zack Moss and not bargain bin for Henry.

I'd be fine with that. For the record the Joey Galloway trade...while bad...the player wasn't. He was a dog.

So if they did something like.....I don't know...draft Jeanty to make up for not getting Henry? I'd be perfectly fine with that.

But I don't think they will. The days of trading draft compensation for talent seems to be over. They haven't done it since.....Roy Williams? I might be missing a move......

I forgot about Roy WIlliams....Jerry was still trying to make up for Moss, same with Dez.

Yeah Dez was a smart pick. I think with Roy his intentions were good. He was trying to give Romo weapons. Why it didn’t click I don’t know. One of the bigger mysteries.

Ego and arrogance rapped up in cynicism

Roy Williams trade was classic Jerry. The Mingo trade is very similar. Both teams didn’t want either receiver. Jerry scares me when he has an itchy trade finger. With Jerry you never win a trade. Even the two starters for one does not look great now. Guyton/Bebe for Arnold.

That $18M is already earmarked for partially covering Parsons, Tyler Smith, and Ferguson extensions.

Not only that but Henry was never coming here. People think because he bought a house down here that meant he wanted to come here and be close to home. Plenty of players live down here and don't sniff the Cowboys.
You’ll never know, but I’ve mentioned to say there was a good chance that he would as there was that he wouldn’t.
