most likely cap room to extend Matt Ryan.

Really? They want to give a big money deal to extend a QB that's only 1-4 in the playoffs? Their front office must not know what they're doing.

Why don't we just draft an OT? Way cheaper than Clabo will be thanks to the new rookie salary cap, and way younger. Why keep blowing money on older stopgap guys when we can draft a guy and plug him in there for 4 years and forget about him?

Wish it was that easy. Lots of rookie Linemen highley touted in college can't handle the NFL speed and others can't stay healthy with the bulk they have to block. At least he's evidently NFL proven for the most part.

Please let this happen. Draft either Warmack, Cooper, Pugh or Warford and we'd then have three good O lineman

you cant keep going younger younger younger younger just because someone starts the chant. Some positions require older guys and the OL is those positions where you want your players a little older and a lot wiser.

Draft the best OT or G available. Start Parnell if we get a G. Free is gone. That said Id be pretty happy though getting Clabo. He is solid.

no no no. He was horrendous in 2011 at LT also. Since he signed his deal he has sucked. He had back to back very good years before he got his big deal.

I don't understand the logic. People want to give up on Free (who only had one bad year) for guys who might not be any better. I know Free is expensive and that cutting him will free up some cap space, but then wouldn't signing someone (who might not be any better) counteract the cap space we make up for cutting Free?

what stats do you have to back that claim up, vs which games, and which players and which systems does he have problems with?

I'm gonna go ahead and call BS on that one. He was certainly not anything resembling an All Pro in 2011 but he as at the very least more than serviceable.

:hammer: Are there really people out there who think Free is anything other than absolutely horrendous?

Dude, just go back and watch the games from the last two years. Or just watch the clip of Michael Irvin calling Free out on NFL Network.

Sounds like it is preferable to contract the clabo. Maybe it is curable with some penicillin if it turns out to be Free.

Stack Watch...down

"Tyson Clabo, right tackle, Falcons. He was the guy that was matched up with Carolina’s Charles Johnson most of the day. Even though the Falcons gave Clabo a lot of help by lining up offensive lineman Mike Johnson as a tight end, Charles Johnson still was able to beat the blocks and record 3.5 sacks."

Ryan isn't the most nimble QB in the League, he'd of died last year with Free blocking. Dallas would save enough to sign Clabo by cutting him.

The last thing you want to do is have to draft an offensive lineman in the first round.

By boxing yourself in that corner you're probably going to miss out on selecting a better prospect at #18.

The Cowboys screwed up many a draft by drafting via need and not the best prospect available.

Cowboys haven't had the luxury to NOT draft by need in a long time. Thank our GM for that.
