Yes, little trade value and a silly contract, but...

Gallup can still play. He had over 100 yards against a good Green Bay team in a play-off game. That's no mean feat.

As a #3 or #4 receiver, he's a nice depth piece. Not many teams have a better #4 than Gallup. You need depth at WR.

He was slow recovering from injury. Inaccurate Dak missed him often last season too.

People predicting his departure from the league are way off base.

 Dak was 1st in completion percentage this year with players playing more than 10 games.

No team is trading for Gallop.....
A team might considering what they would have to pay. Probably a late round pick and 8m for the year. That's not too bad. They could always release him the following year if he sucks.

Great job GM Jerry…sign a WR to a $58 MM contract right after ACL surgery, who expectedly struggled the following season and then having a subsequent ACL surgery last year…no team will be foolish enough to trade for him and assume that contract, so the Cowboys will waive him and get nothing in return…but does Dallas even want him with a pay cut? MG has had caught less than 40 balls for less than 500 yards the past three seasons.

If someone offers them a 6th, they better jump on it.

I would be completely shocked if there was a team offering a 5th.

He will likely be cut then we wait to see if we can get a comp for him.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you don't receive comp picks for released players?

If a team trades for him they take on his contract which has three more years on it. There is an “out” in the contract right now (2024). In a trade the team he goes to assumes the value of the deal and whatever cap fallout is incurred if they subsequently release him. His pay exceeds $10 million in 2025 and 2026. This is a guy you really have to believe in to trade for him.

Yeah, he's
8.5
10.5
10.5

What dead cap would a team that trades for him have?

Or - sit back and wait for the Cowboys to release Gallup...then offer a shorter, less cost offer, i.e. a "one year prove it" deal.

He missed a wide open Gallup so many times last season. You're so in love with Dak you have selective memory!

:lmao:
Dak was first in the NFL in completion percentage. Gallup hasn’t been the same since his injury. You haters whine about “We like our own” but when it comes to your own you don’t want to let him go. Something’s wrong with you folks.

Watch him be back to himself next year. Who knows. I knew he would not be the same the next year. He got hurt and paid. We get nothing.

No team is going to trade for him, Dallas will end up releasing him and eating the dead cap money.

Not surprised

But going to be tough to fill RB1, RB2, WR3, LT, C, DT, MLB all in one draft
Don't worry, we'll get some really cheap free agents to fill at least a few of those spots.
