Twitter: Cowboys have more than $30 million in cap space, which happens to be Crosby's base salary

We clear cap space every year... and we do nothing with it... every year.

Bad idea to trade for Crosby. Wait and see what this defense can do.
By game 5 to 8, we will see where we are. Also theRaiders will know where they are.

His price may be down at that point. Say the Raiders are like 2-6, and want to do a fire sale.
If Dallas is like 6-2. Then they may not really need him. If they feel he can actually put them over the top. Offer a 2nd round pick. Not that they should, as they will be extremely low on draft picks for 2027.
Eight games into the season the Raiders will have a more accurate assessment of what team’s 2nd round pick will be better than another team’s. More than half teams in the league would give them a 2nd for Crosby. More the half the teams in the league will have less than six wins eight games into the season. The Cowboys are not getting Crosby for one second round draft pick. No other team is either.

It wouldn’t really surprise me. Most of the big splash trades we’ve made over the past 10 years (even further back) happened mid-season.

If they were to go into next year's draft with no day 1 or 2 picks, it might be the worst personnel malpractice in team history. Right up there with drafting Mazi or Taco in the 1st round.

The usual bs hype for an aging player with a bad knee. His play had zero effect for the Raiders win/loss sheet.

That's how they're going to play it — they'll wait until the trade deadline, or at the very least a few games into the season to decide whether Maxx would help them, and to what degree, before deciding one way or another. If, for whatever reason they decide it's not in the cards then they have that cap space to allocate elsewhere, possibly even to resign Pickens.

It doesn't hurt but I think it's unlikely this happens. Most likely they plan to carry this over to next year because they will need it just to keep some players here.

No it dosent make sense to do it right now for no reason. The players that got their deals reworked might have been out right released, now theyre stuck with the dead money if theyre released. This move wasnt for next year.

I’m not anticipating it being a trade for Crosby. I think that ship has sailed.

I think this is just some new era NFL accounting. Nice to see the Joneses catching up.
Yet why would they choose ton right at he doorstep eve of the regular season , just to clear out major cap space ?

Someting they coul have easily done in the offseason

Espcially with what we saw happened with the Quinten Williams trade last year, why are we counting sailing ships ?

What i'd wonder if there's such a mega trade per Crosby, is the draft pick comsensation.

What would it take to pry him away from the radas ?

How much do we offer in draft picks ? ... and to what point do we we decline the response ?
