Jerry won't be able to say no. Drafting him doesn't improve our team one bit for at least the next 2 years.

So what, our team is 2 years+ away from being a super bowl caliber team. I personally think if JF was on this team, he would take over the starting role at QB way before 2 years and would energize the organization and the fan base. A player like JF is exactly what this team needs. I would feel better about the team with JF than an old Romo with back problems.

Not everyone liked Dontari Poe after his outstanding combine but everyone and their mother are falling on Aaron Donalds back like a chronic case of dandruff, my how things do change but stay the same.

The truth is that nobody knows whether the 6 ft ht Donald will fail in the NFL or a lower rated DL with more size like a Tuitt or Hageman who didn't have the combine numbers will turn into a Hall of Fame player.

With only about 10 picks separating them, it's not an exact science.

There isn't any part of that post I agree with. JF wouldn't energize the organization as a backup QB. We need an impact defensive player at 16.

hoping Spencer contract is performance based. I would be surprised if he makes it out of camp considering seriousness of injury. If Dallas structured it right its low risk move.

JF can't play in the NFL. All hype.

It should prove interesting to see what kind of reappearance Spencer makes -- the pro bowl type or the less effective one. We all know that he'll be re-inventing himself from an extremely tough injury to recover from. With that in mind, let's kindly wish him godspeed in that endeavor and hope he does extremely well for himself and his team in the process.

We need BPA, if you haven't noticed, our team isn't even remotely close to making a deep run in the playoffs or even having a shot at the super bowl right now. Getting an impact defensive player at 16 is not going to make that difference in one year. We are hurting all over right now. If JF is there at 16, we should draft him. We have no idea how much longer a 34 year old Romo with bad back problems is going to last. This could very well be his last year. We need a quality QB ready to go for when Romo goes down. If BPA at 16 is a defensive player, then by all means we should take him. With that said, we shouldn't ignore other positions.

There is a 100 dollar bill in the middle of a room. In the corners of the room are:
Santa Claus
The Easter Bunny
A Smart Aggie
A Dumb Aggie

Which one get the 100 dollars?

Answer: The Dumb Aggie. He's the only one that's a real entity.

That was cute but I'm not at all an Aggie fan.

So you just what, bench Romo with $50 mil guaranteed or maybe he could be a $50mil backup?

Nope, Romo can be the starter if he wins that role. The Cowboys made a huge mistake giving Romo that much money when we had so many holes on the team. Unless your QB can make up for all those holes, you don't give that kind of money. The point I was making is this: We have a team that is currently years out from competing for a super bowl. If we have a shot at a QB like Manziel who could potentially be a franchise QB at 16, we take it. When Romo's back fails (Which could be any time) we have someone right behind him ready to take over who is actually capable of taking over.

I remember they said the same thing about Doug Flutie. I don't know if he can or can't, and neither does anyone else, until he is given the chance. Time will tell.

True but then Flutie was an 11th rd pick not a 16 overall. He also played in the USFL so NFL teams did get a look at him but still the risk/reward factor came at a very low cost.

Or never.

Let fix the defense/Oline first. There will be other RD1 QBs when we're ready and able to move on. JFF is not Andrew Luck.

And Romo isn't Luck either. Not many QB's are Luck. We don't need a once in 2 decades QB. We just need a really good future QB. Without a solid QB in this league, your team goes nowhere. Doesn't matter how good the defense is. I know the Cowboys aren't feeling good about Romo and his back right now either.

That's my point. We can get a good prospect in a few years when it would be easier to move on from Romo's extension. The plus side is that there is no QB controversy and (hopefully) the rook QB is walking into a solid D and O line.

I know the Cowboys aren't feeling good about Romo and his back right now either.

You do not know this. By all reports his surgery went well and his recovery is ahead of schedule. I'm not sure why everyone seems to think he's Quasimodo now. If, however, his back is really messed up, I would agree with pulling the trigger on JFF if he fell to 16.
