Well, I hope you're right I just don't see him getting past Zimmer and the Bears. Time will tell.

Even if Donald goes earlier than #16, I think the Cowboys, if they don't force the issue will end up with a very good player.

JMO but if Donald is gone at 16 the chances of a trade down (even if it is only 2-3 spots) are at least 75%. Right now I am praying JF isn't available for us at 16.

Not a big deal. Nor is Spencer on this team. If he was a big deal then he would have never been off team.

I'm seeing several defensive linemen that can help this club from rounds 1 through 7. I just don't want to see the front office spaz out over one player be it Donald, Barr or even on the other side of the coin "Johnny Football".

Kiper's latest chat says something to the effect that Donald would be a great fit @ #7 to Tampa if they don't get a QB...I know, I know, it's Kiper, but once said in public, it starts getting in people's (fans) heads...could the FO in Tampa pick Donald? I think they would "Lovie" that pick....

I agree. I have no problem with drafting a QB in this draft who could be the franchise after Romo steps down in a few years. No problem with that at all. But I do have a problem with wasting a 1st on Manziel, a guy who I don't think will be a capable starting QB in this league.

Hey I give him a ton of credit. He has been covering football and the draft for over 30 years. He knows what he is talking about and is very informed and is willing to go on radio or TV anytime. He may not be right about everything but outside of Risen who is? I promise you one thing. He is way past the point of giving a crap what anyone really thinks of him or his opinions.

I agree Mike.

If Donald is gone, we can target Easley and/or Sutton in the 2nd for that penetrating DT.

That said, if it costs a 3rd to move up to 11, I would not be against it IF the Cowboys think that Donald is the next coming . . . . My preference would be to try and trade down if Donald, Barr, Evans and Lewan are gone, however.

I said in another thread that I like Kiper, I just think he goes overboard a little at times...he has a little jones in him (wanting to known as right all of the time)...but, I like that he is there as the measuring stick...I look at Kiper like I look at weathermen...a job across the country was created for these people based on projections and computer models...the stand in front of the screen and state what they are projecting based on the info available to them...I appreciate anyone that can get paid to give me the information that I am looking for....

Now this is funny. Typical fan going for the flash instead of building a team the right way. The defense last year was the 3rd worst NFL defense of ALL TIME. We've addressed the depth with the FA signings. Both Spencer and Melton are coming off major injuries and no one knows if they're even going to be ready to play and even if they do, how effective will they be. Cowboys need to draft defense high and often.
So far we have
DT (4): Melton, McClain, Bass, Hayden
DE(3): Selvie, Spencer, Mincey
DT/DE(1): Crawford

We could still use maybe 2 DEs and 1 DT in this draft. At least 1 and 1. WDE is still a huge need.

Agreed. And I'm hoping two of those happen in the 1st 3 rounds. I don't care who, so long as they make Marinelli happy.

Jerry won't be able to say no. Drafting him doesn't improve our team one bit for at least the next 2 years.

We usually don't agree on much, but I have to say you hit the nail on the head with this post.

Drafting JF is a move for the future, not the present. He will do nothing to benefit the team for at least 3 seasons since Romo's contract is basically an iron clad agreement for 3 seasons per Mickey. With that being said, Jerry could not help himself and would draft him if by some fluke he is still available at 16
