Pollard had the benefit of being #2. That means you don't do a lot of heavy lifting and teams don't generally game plan you.

I urge you to look at our #2's over the last couple decades. Obscene numbers. Even underwear thief.

And they generally fizzle out when going to #1 or having to do more.

Now...not saying Tony is that. Although he never has been #1...right? I think if we have good management he can fill that role.

He just never has...so how do you know?
Pollard was a change of pace back. But can run between tackles. But he is only good for about 12 carrys or so and wants out. We will be running by committee this year. Could be a good thing but some RBs like Elliot needed a certain amount of totes to get in the flow of the game. I hope our RBs can be ready to step in. I would maybe give them a series a piece. Unless it’s a long drive and we are running hard and the back needs a breather.

Pollard is the best in the division?
I wasn't very clear as I was only talking about the team in the division with a better RB room. Philly likely has the best RB "room" as IMO they are deeper but Pollard is the best TB on either team.

Barkley is the best RB in the division for sure.

The Giants fans may dispute that claim.
My post was confusing. I meant the best RB between Dallas and the team in the division - Philly - who likely has the best RB "room".

Not even the best RB room in the division.

They have the best RB in Pollard but depth is a question with three guys who have little to no NFL real game snaps.

Let’s revisit in like October.
I agree! I'd be happy to!

Right, if defenses focus on Pollard's change of pace style with quickness, then another style could catch them off guard. Deuce is a quick handoff or pass, because he's not a pass blocker, obviously. Hunter can be more of a goal line, 3 yards and cloud of dust, but with a little more shiftiness than the league realizes right now.

I got a feeling about Luepke. He needs to get some confidence in regular season. Get some momentum. Deuce also. We need to know Deuce can do this during regular season against starters. I think he can. They all need to work on blocking and blitz pickup especially. Malik was not that good at it. They put him in right after Pollard went down and Malik whiffed on a pick up and almost got Dak killed.

The Cowboys will be entering the season with only one proven back and he’s coming off a serious injury.

The case to be made here: Tony Pollard is about 15th in production, having split time with Ezekiel Elliott last year of course. But, Pollard has the highest YPC of any 1000 yard RB in the league last year, at 5.2 YPC. Rico Dowdle has shown growth, and is the lowest ceiling player in the group, but an all around decent player in my opinion. Deuce Vaughn will provide some highlight reel moves this year, while hopefully supporting with average pass blocking skills at best. Hunter Leupke is already an average pass blocker, and has shown versatility in both running style and receiving.

While this group does not have the pedigree that the top RB does for some other teams, the depth is probably the greatest strength, not to mention that Dallas has 4 RB's to utilize in varying ways. It's about as diverse a group as it can be, yet also very talented. I'm going to enjoy watching them this year, and think that this group outmatches any NFC East group of RB's and as the season goes on, will surprise many NFL experts, to be a top 5 overall group at RB.
There is no case to be made

Right, I think that Deuce's pass blocking technique should be to flare out for a swing pass, that Dak will either immediately overthrow if Deuce is about to get killed, or connect if he's open for big yards.

Oh you know Deuce is gonna get some swing and screen passes. Along with jet sweeps. Get him in open space and good luck catching him. He changes direction on a dime. Maybe even line him up outside for WR screen.

The only thing more arrogant that the jones family are the cowboys fans.

Most do not even watch the rest of the league but make statements like this.
I suspect most Cowboy fans watch the rest of the league about the same as other teams’ fans.

I agree with everything that you say there, except the conclusion. The potential will be realized, but I'd prefer Deuce to be lined up outside for the quick pass in case of emergency. Much more effective that Deuce blocking.

In fact the offensive scheme should rule out Deuce blocking.... ever...
I certainly don't disagree with you.
