Quinton Mitchell and Cooper DeJean both becoming All-Pros is definitely a feather in his cap.
Because the market is about to be hoppingWhy not wait and interview Lenord?
Jerry definitely isn’t behind this hire. I’m not gonna overrate things but between trading for defensive tackles and hiring an actual up and coming DC….feels different.
You are so wrong. This is the opposite of a Jerry hire. Gannon would have been a Jerry hire. Eberflus. Zimmer. Nolan.Perfect Jerry hire. No experience whatsoever as a coordinator at any level and will owe Jerry obedience for the opportunity he probably wouldn't have been offered elsewhere.
HC, OC and now DC .....all are in their first time jobs as sole HC and Coordinators.
Just coincidence of course.
Don't forget about him being around Surtain. Yes, all elite prospects, but he had a hand in developing their talent.Quinton Mitchell and Cooper DeJean both becoming All-Pros is definitely a feather in his cap.
Proven guys are hard to get your hands on. The most established guy, Schwartz isnt really available. Hard to say if Flores was really available. He took one DC interview and who knows if he was even serious about. You're proven guy this cycle was Gannon. I like him as a DC than most than most of the posters here, but he was my 4th out of the likely candidatesNot sure how I feel on this. It's definitely outside the box for this organization. Living up here in the Philly area, Parker is very well respected. I caught a beat writer on WIP this morning raving about him and how people around the league think he's the next star defensive guy.
But I also thought this team, given where they are, needed a proven guy.
Hmmmm.............
glad it wasn't me sheeshYou have no idea what you’re talking about. This is the most unjerry thing we’ve seen in years
wish he had a hand in developing jerryDon't forget about him being around Surtain. Yes, all elite prospects, but he had a hand in developing their talent.
30th is a bit deceiving imo. went half the season without Q, and have 2 firsts to play with. they're not world beaters, but there's a solid infrastructure to play with and resources to stock the pantry. it's a good situation to walk into imo, especially considering the expectations. think he can surprise. It might be but hes an unknown quantity.
If he was taking over a decent established defense as a 1st time DC, I think the transition would be better.
Hes taking over a 30th ranked defense with no experience as a sole DC.
And that other JAG LB we got in a trade the coaches forgot about playing. You know Leonhard is pissed that he didn't lose last weekend.
He was thisclose to getting to coach Jack Sanborn.
Same applies to Leonard, but everyone is a acting like he's the 2nd coming of a young Bellichek. It might be but hes an unknown quantity.

Young coaches know all about these modern schemes, which should help the front office get out of that 90's thinking.wish he had a hand in developing jerry
especially when you have a stud center piece and some premium picks. If I was a up and coming DC, I would want to go to the worst squad just to show you i can coach the players and make them successful.
I see more value in that then coaching a stacked defense as a first timer.
I love this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Young coaches know all about these modern schemes, which should help the front office get out of that 90's thinking.
literally every DC as far back as i can remember was experienced and then some lol. knock it off. this is a departure from the norm.No experienced DC is coming to work for Jerry. We get the guys who are glad to be offered a promotion.
