Yeah, brace yourself, a lot of draft boards have CB as the best selection available at 12. Once the two DEs, and Downs go, Styles goes as well. Time will tell.

I don't think Blankenship is an improvement over what we have at all. We should set our sights higher or just stick with what we have.

I am with you on that, but getting at least Dean and Phillips would be good. Plus, he coached the Broncos DBs from 21-23.

So, using the above link, maybe we can get Dean and Phillips from Philly and Singleton, MacMillan, and P.J. Locke from Denver. That would make our defence much better, no? Or, even better, Dean, Phillips, Locke (a safety from the Broncos), and Singleton, and then get Styles in the draft? All of a sudden, that is a much better roster on defence.

Remember he was on the staff when Vangio was the HC in Denver and Vance Joseph was his DC.

Now granted, they did improve the talent as well over those years but it's categorically false to that neither the secondary or their pass D were strengths when Parker was their DB coach.

Exactly, and he was good in Denver in a similar role too. I think we got ourselves a good coach here.

Exactly, and doing it right when Philly looks to be a shipwreck internally. If we play our cards right, we can take a few of their key players too that are set to be FAs like Nakobe Dean.

He was exposed at times this past year. PFF had him rated 92 out of 98 safeties. He's Jeff Heath reincarnated - a guy that gets way more praise than he deserves for some reason.

Heath was a great kicker!

The only thing that scares me is he will be learning on the job. I don't believe he has ever called plays. But one thing is for sure. This is def not a Jerry move.

This gets me even more excited about him being our DC! And I think him being new to being a DC means he probably has new ideas, and given that he's a Fangio and Vance Joseph disciple says that we should be in good hands.

I'd love for him to bring players with him like Nakobe Dean and Alex Singleton. If we can get both of them, our linebacker core (especially if we draft Styles as well) will be elite, which, given our dline rn (especially if we can draft a damn good pass rusher) is bound to make our defence dangerous.
