Everflush was so bad it would be extremely hard not to do better. With our draft pick arsenal and 2-3 good free agent signings, we could probably get from historically bad to at least mediocre. Time will tell.

Yes, he is far away from becoming a HC candidate where he needs a few seasons to prove his worth. This is good for the Cowboys as they can grow the defense with him.

I'm excited about this. Its a huge risk, given the state of the defence, but I love taking a swing at a young, smart coach with a lot to prove instead of hiring retread that keeps playing his greatest hits like Eberflus and Zimmer.

Plus, its something exciting to watch. What kind of defense will he run? What players does he prefer? How will the players develop? All totally new, making for a fun offseason
