Right and its impact and effects will forever shape my fandom.
How can you nit pick at Jerry when you were 100% on board with his decision to hire Garrett and employ him form10 years as our HC?

it’s decisions like that which have kept Dallas a laughing stock for the past 30 years.

I mean Jerry hasn't hired a real GM yet. That's what we really need. Jerry doesn't care about the fans. He probably sees that the NFC is going to be really weak again this year and acted accordingly. Good for us but doubt if anything is really going to change.
He doesn't listen to us or care. All he sees is a packed a house every time Dallas plays a game and record breaking TV numbers. If he actually listened to the fan base, the team would look a lot different. All he's done so far is to sign a 32 year old CB , a WR on his 5th NFL team, and cut Zeke. The fact he seems awake this off season is just a testament to how lazy he's been in most previous off seasons.
Y'all beware the Phantom Public Outcry. Only Jerry Jones sees it coming for him. It is just like Ebenezer Scrooge's third spirit, except more fictional.

Well let's wait and see
We Cowboys fans are desperate so blow everything out of proportion. Clinging to hope.
There’s always hope the historic futility trend will end. Surely it won’t go on forever . But the point remains fans are going to be critical , frustrated, and disappointed until we knock the door down to a championship game to end this streak.

But under our dysfunctional ownership this era I’m not sure why we all wouldn’t be more apathetic.

No argument, except against Jerry. Why should he step down as GM? He's done a pretty good job recently.
Pretty good in extending our historic futility playoff mark. Until the results produce in the playoffs it’s basically more of the same.

How any Cowboys fan would argue that an 81 year old part time GM is what’s best for Cowboys Football blows my mind.

But as long as there are any Jethro defenders it reminds me why my quest must continue.

First of all I wasn’t on board for hiring him. And I mainly defended him against the Lynch Mob who held him responsible instead of Jethro’s ways. Garrett was basically a product of the dysfunction. And he gave me something to root for with little hope elsewhere.

And that time it didn’t look like He’d hire any puppets better. And to Garrett’s credit he’s still had as much playoff success as any of our HC with much more experience and proven record this era .

Garrett is a perfect example of the dysfunctional organization we’ve had this era. And until we knock the door down to a championship I’m not totally sold we still don’t have puppets to a certain extent. The toxic atmosphere , undermining of coaching and meddling is still our biggest hurdle to overcome.

Buddy you were his biggest supporter. cant nail Jerry to a wall if you were in support of his most boneheaded decision in the last 30 years.

Sure I can . You still never grasped my support of Garrett.

It was based on the thought of our other HC’s this era. And looking for the best puppet to serve under our dysfunctional ownership.

Even Bill didn’t have any more success than Garrett. And Mike hadn’t yet either. Time will tell but I have no more hope than I had before.

You haven’t seen me bash Mike. I didn’t bash Bill either. I’ve been consistent throughout. Our lack of more success is squarely on Jethro’s shoulders.

You supported Garrett period. Why you claim you did it is of no consequence.

did I support Garrett? No because I knew he sucked at what he did. I would never support that clown as a hc or any coach.

MM is head and shoulders better than Garrett. And it shows on the field and in roster building.

And it does matter why I supported him against the Lynch Mob who held him responsible for lack of more success. A narrative is important.

I often said if I thought Jethro would step away and hire a GM and let the HC coach I’d be all in.

But as long as he’s not hiring another GM not sure it’s going to matter much. And if I have to root for Puppets , Garrett being an ex Cowboy player was someone I could get behind during a very frustrating situation.

Everything about the Cowboys basically has suked this era. Why hold one HC anymore responsible than others. There’s been one constant throughout. The same one holding us back now even with a better HC.

How many more disappointing playoff failures with different head coaches is it going to take for everyone to see it’s all on the one constant throughout.

Cowboys haven’t come up short all because of our coaches, talent, QB’s, etc. It’s all because of our failed ownership and front office. And it’s most likely going to continue. I grow more apathetic each year.

Why would we think it’s going to get any better well into his 80’s? Prepare yourself for more disappointment.

I gotta say, what I've seen so far this off season has been very unlike any in recent memory and in my opinion quite good

I dont quite agree with that. We were one of the youngest teams recently and have been drafting really well. We are a very young team, even moreso with the release of Zeke. We added 2 excellent vets but with another draft, we have a very reliable core of players. Superbowl window will be open for quite a while.
That window has been opened since 1995
