It cost more to cut Livings than to keep him. I am not sure why everyone on these boards isn't aware of that yet. If someone can beat him out so be it but he stays.

We wouldn't lose more than $1 mil...it's in the 6 figure range.

The guy is a terrible fit in a zone blocking scheme and a terrible football player in general.

I surely hope this is sarcasm. Are you forgetting safety position or DL help? Why would we draft a corner in rd 2 when we already signed an expensive one last year and gave up a 2nd to move up in rd 1 to draft another?

it was sarcasm

but never say never when jerry is running the draft

I'm all for Winston....reason? He's a pretty smart x&o guy...could teach a lot to his rookie guard lining up next to him.

why cut free? he could make a serviceable backup at RT or Guard

Because he is scheduled to make a 7 million dollar salary. That is untenable in a carryover cap league.

free has never played guard and parnell is a better priced backup

this

we need to maximize the potential of every move (FA, draft, staying out of cap hell). If he's willing to take a paycut and play inside (and do it amicably which would / should be determined by Callahan) then i'm all for it

I don't understand all the love for Winston. I don't think he will be much of an upgrade over Free. Paying him doesn't seem to be a very good option. If we do that I think it means that the Cowboys have decided that there is absolutely zero chance of getting one of the big 3 OT's in the draft and may try to draft Armstead in the second.

picking Vaccaro at 18 looking good

Hopefully St Louis takes him at 16 and one of those STAR DT's fall into our laps.

“@hitstickmaster2: @BryanBroaddus whats your assessment of Eric Winston?” I am watching him but don't think the team is.

@clarencehilljr Per a cowboys source, team is not in contract talks with Eric Winston. So pump your brakes please.
