Cowboys intend to work out a contract for Dak and have not closed off potential to consummate a deal

Agree. To me it isn't even a pro or anti Dak thing, it's a failure of the front office thing. Failure might not even be the right word as you have to actually try in order to fail.
This is GM Jethro's way of throwing a temper tantrum, for the dumb decisions he made, and trying to make everyone believe it is Dak and his Agents fault.

GM Jethro takes advantage every time he has leverage. No reason for a player and an agent to not do the same.

Good GM's have a back up plan to prevent leverage. Jethro, due to incompetence does not.

You hear it all the time from Owners and GM's, it just business.
It's business for everyone concerned. That includes everyone.

Bargaining in good faith is crucial for both sides.

Let's hope that eventually occurs.

No room for hatred.

ESPN radio New York calls this report BS and they said there’s no doubt whatsoever that JJ is going to full season with a scaled down roster and whatever happens happens.
They said both McCarthy and Prescott and a few others are on the hot seat to make it or break it.
They felt the Lance move to allow JJ some financial freedom to sign big free agents in the next few years and not pay his quarterback much.

Bargaining in good faith?

Who gets to define that?

Dak's options resign with Dallas or become a free agent. Pick your team that actually is trying to win or pick a team that offers the most money.

GM Jethro resign Dak or what?

What is GM Jethro doing in free agency? He is waiting for players to have no other options, so he can sign them at bottom basement pricing.

But Dak should negotiate in good faith?

We shall see.

Josina has sources too.

Sounds like Trance needs to hire Dak's agent at the end of the season.

Why would ESPN New York have any more insight than Josina Anderson?

The reports they made are simply things we have discussed over and over again on this forum. It's all conjecture, on their part and on ours.

The Lance move was a throw at the dartboard. And since he's nearing the end of his rookie deal himself the window of financial freedom with Lance is just about closed too.

Lance is owed 25 million on his 5th year option.

Thats not paying the QB much?

Also, the Cowboys didn't even sign free agents when Dak was playing on his 4th round rookie contract. Why would they suddenly change their ways with Lance playing QB instead?

NY > all

Exactly, and if they move on from McCarthy, Lance has to learn yet another new offense.

The whole thing is a mess. My best guess is they think it’s all about gaining leverage over Prescott because Jerry’s ego can’t handle getting beat badly on the last contract and getting little ROI.

All this back and forth is intended to feed the guppies. Nothing more.
