Are we the only team in the NFL that learned nothing from the Matt Millen era in Detroit? WR is a complimentary position. You don’t build a team from that position. We have gaping holes on the OL, backfield , and LB core. We can’t run the ball or stop the run. WTH are we doing even entertaining this?
The NFL has changed a lot from that era. When you look back over the past couple years, only last years Chiefs team can say they did not have 1-2 top tier WRs.

Whether it is a coincidence or a need, having 1-2 top tier WRs has become the norm for roster building if you want to win.

He wants to get paid. We can’t even sign Lamb before his price sky rockets, you think our two nitwits are gonna want to sign this dude as well?

I wonder how many "interested' teams are in the middle of contract negotiations with their starting receiver. I know of at least one.
Actually, it's more than just starters which BTW i do not see BA as a true #1; deebo is that guy(yes some see him a s a hybrid but its obvious how they suffer bit when hes out), Cmac gets a lot of targets as does Kittles.. BA is 2 or a 1c, ironically, he like many backups want their targets and money, start making demands and that why they seek trades.. we saw Hill be traded and AJ Brown as well, all teams DO NOT seek to make their wr1 happy. our issue with CD is normal, hes not holding out..

this happens all over the league for all positions, yearly... they're staggered there are people going through contract negotiations during every offseason but if you need a list it would be jamar chase& Justin Jefferson and then when you see those guys they're number twos are upset T Higgins wants out matter of fact they're #3 has even said that he would like to be moved. they aren't happy being the other guy...

This isn't a Jerry Jones thing ,this is a NFL thing, you are in constant negotiations with a steadily changing roster. By the way it's even worse for teams that draft very well which most years the Cowboys do and now they have all these guys I'll come up with contracts that need to be renegotiated nearly that the same time we just upped Trayvon diggs riot Zach Martin and now we have to deal with Parsons and lamb...

Sure let's trade away picks to sign a WR, when we can't sign our own WR, who is better than he is and will cost us no picks.

Sounds like a GM Jethro type of move.

Maybe we could trade our entire roster for the Niners roster.
You sit here bashing "Jethro," but arent smart enough to figure out that the media says the Cowboys are interested in every player that becomes available because they know linking Dallas gets them more clicks. Look in the mirror, Jethro!

Cowboys are interested in paying 2 WR’s 25+ million a season? Heck they don’t even appear to be interested in signing the one they have now.

It boggles the mind that the same people railing on jerruh and his offspring that they’re not handing out recording breaking contracts, are also the same ones saying they’d interested in yet another player wanting a massive deal.

Delusional
It boggles the mind that we have "Cowboys fans," in here that fall for those clickbait articles. Some people just dont use their own brain.

Well someone was smart enough to keep putting this crap on the board.

Unless, you have not been paying attention, GM Jethro's smartness speaks for itself.

The Smith deal is for 2026, 2027 & 2028. They get to enjoy having both a few more years. The Cowboys have a better WR than Brown and Smith and can’t get an extension done. What is it the Dallas FO does all day?
They also fired most of their yacht staff. They are hiring new staff on 1 year deals minimum wage, part time only.
So that is taking some of their time ?

Jerry is focused on construction and leasing out buildings.

I’m hard pressed to remember a single name on the NFL landscape the Cowboys FO “is not interested”. They are PR professionals contrasted by their second tier roster building skills.

San Francisco has more money available for him then we do. After Smith signed that extension with the Eagles the price went up for San Francisco.

Well they should have just to get idea of what his compensation looks like.
Stephen isn't giving up much to get anyone via trade. But the issue would be money/ extension. Brandon probably wants to go somewhere who is willing to extend him now. Won't happen here.
