But all else being equal there are probably a dozen other guys at DE I'd rather see the Cowboys sign.

I think if we are interested now, we aren't just kicking the tires. Its too early for that. You dont take fliers at the onset of FA.

If he signs this early, he'll likely get at least 2 years of guaranteed money

Just give me Sheard on a 4 dear deal + A Spencer on a 1 year deal. Then nab Za'Darius Smith in the 3rd to play depth behind sheard after his rookie season. I would be very happy with this. Now on Clayborn i wouldn't have a problem with. I wouldn't really be excited either. I have him as sort of a last resort to fill the glaring LDE need. Only really want him if a handful of other players have signed elsewhere or have to big a price tag. Oh well. Nice to see that they will at least attempt to fix thru FA instead of drafting need early.

Hardy is a good player who will probably cost $15 million a year who has more red flags than a may day in Moscow. We got to face facts that there is probably a 1/32 chance we get Hardy, and look for some other good players who will be far cheaper and don't have the risk of likely suspension.
