I think Romo could end up being a HOFer if he wins a Super Bowl or two and ends up with the highest QB rating in the history of the NFL.

So, Jerry could possibly end up having two HOF QBs under his belt. I doubt any GM could say that.

Aikman was the #1 pick and would've been even if Jerry hadn't bought the team in '89.

Romo was an undrafted FA we lucked into, but has a long ways to go to even be considered.

I am not trying to pile on Jones yet again, but he's not noted for his eye for quarterbacks. As you stated Aikman was a Cowboy regardless. Romo was finally what we came up with after turning over every stone for years. Most of the time, Jones would dig up Hugh Millen, Tony Banks, Quincy Carter, Anthony Wright, Clint Stoerner, Ryan Leaf, Chad Hutchinson or Drew Henson. To imply he "knows" QBs is actually pretty funny.

Okay, Boller works for me. It's not like you're gonna get somebody good who's also willing to sit the bench forever and make backup money.

This would be a necessary but necessarily unsexy signing.

I'm not a Boller fan, but this is the type of guy I expected to come in here and backup Romo. No one with a real future.

He does still have some upside IMO. In other words, he has a pulse. Brad Johnson was a corpse.

He's better than some of the guys out there.

And I don't really think he had a great offense to work with in Baltimore.

Very serviceable backup IMO.

Good Lord, we better hope Romo does not get hurt again if we are going with freaking Boller as the backup.

Boller freaking sucks, however it is an upgrade over BJ.

Well, he's serviceable and can throw the ball a mile. It should at least keep the Defense from crowding the line too much while we run almost every down to hide his inacurracy.

No kidding. That "QB search" after Aikman left was torturous. Luckily we got Romo as an undrafted FA, mainly due to him playing at Payton's alma mater. But even he has a long ways to go to be considered an elite QB. He's definitely better than the dregs JJ dug up half a decade prior, but he's still got several issues that he needs to overcome in order to get us deep into the playoffs.

I hope that regardless of who the backup is. That has no bearing on the situation whatsoever.

Just heard Adam Sheftner say this on NFL network. I could live with this. He's still young, strong arm, has starting experience. Way better than Bollinger.
Who cares both him Romo never going win us to the Super Bowl they both Suck!!!
