This is generally a really good thing for a team. However, it is frustrating because if they would be just a little more active in veteran free agency, they would be an even better team.

But, yeah, they are absolutely one of the best drafting teams.

it’s not a really good thing in todays nfl. You have to utilize FA and you have opportunities to improve from a large player pool. The draft is never enough. This teams philosophy is baffling. You even see it on the practice squad.

That’s what I said. They need to utilize FA more.

It is never bad to draft well though.

Because they live in a delusional fantasy land where they just kill it in personnel all the time.

There's more positive than negative in being no1 on this list.

We can spot talent and draft pretty well.

Other posters have said it, we overpay our good, not great players so Jerry's famous "pie" can't go round further to bring in 1 or 2 FAs who maybe could take us over the top.

I'm broadly sticking with "glass half full" though with my feelings on being top of this list.

no but we talk about how great they draft, yet they never win anything. They set the barometer on individual achievements and those players are wasted.

Which is why they need to supplement their good drafting with VFA. We’re agreeing here.

In the early 2000’s Jerry was doing it the opposite way, which was awful drafting and spending a lot in free agency. As the results showed… that is much worse.

Just a little more in free agency now could put them over the top.

Kearse, Hooker, Watkins,Basham, Fowler, Turpin, Barr, and Peters. That is a pretty good group of players. They have a very good double digit win roster.

There really should be a rule that homegrown players count less against the cap.
