this! exactly! all these folks who think our defense is an issue need to heed this language. our defense is dependent on our offense. its always been that way. we cant score many points and our defense wont be able to hold on for long.

I think you take best player and not worry about where he plays. While most needs are certainly on offense we could be mighty thin at CB and a good CB wouldn't be a bad way to go
If we get the guy they like st QB early then that's great but if no QB is there a trade back is certainly a good option too
The options in the top 5 are many

Only if it results in picking a solid player that helps the team. Making a selection in the top 5 that turns out to be a bust will set us back and add insult to injury.

Exactly. People must have already forgotten about Mo.

I'm for trading back a few spots, I don't see any franchise qbs in this draft. I actually wouldn't mind a WR early.

Good news guys. Looks like Lil' Dan wants the Skins to keep the pedal to the metal. Bodes well for us losing that game. I HATE that it's come to this and I felt dirty hoping we wouldn't beat the Bills yesterday but the difference between 3/4 in the first round and 7/8 is huge.

Its come to the point where im worried Jerry may take over the draft this season. And that scares me no matter where we are picking

According to playoffstatus.com, it still is possible for us to get the top pick -- but it is extremely unlikely. It is even less likely for us to get the second pick.

We're guaranteed to pick in the top seven, even if we beat the Commanders.

Exactly. People must have already forgotten about Mo.

It's like some think drafting in the top 5-10 guarantees ending up with a great player. You mentioned Mo all anyone has to do is go back to the 2012 draft and they'll see that 5 of the first 7 picks went bust including Mo. The draft is such a crapshoot that the QB Washington drafted in the 4th round in 2012 ended up being better than the QB they gave up the farm for at #2 overall.

i hope we don't close the season with a win vs the Commanders and i live in md. I rather hear the Commanders beat the cowboys BS than us drop to 8 by beating them in a meaningless game. I rather pick as high as possible.

I want the higher pick simply because you pick higher in EVERY round, and it gives us a better chance of getting the players we really want. There is nothing to be gained by beating the Commanders since they are going into the playoffs even if we do beat them.

I think the Skins might try to win this, Snyder apparently said (I'm paraphrasing) that you want momentum going into the playoffs and losing to a 4-11 team is not how you want to enter the playoffs

Skins might not lay down like a $2 hooker after all

I like the DT from Alabama. A 320+ pounder with pass rushing ability. There are a lot of guys I like who will probably go in the second half of the 1st round (QB Wentz, Bama DT, RB Henry, even DT Nkemdiche if he drops for off the field issues). Wouldn't mind if we could use our top 5 pick to trade back and snag two of those guys.
Julio Jones has been the only non overrated Alabama player in recent memory. It's something about that program that I don't trust.

I think I saw someone else mention this, but here's the deal with our strength of schedule vs. the Chargers'.

The opponents we've played so far have an accumulated 119 wins, while the Chargers' opponents have 115. However, if you include our Week 17 opponents, ours have 127 and the Chargers' have 126. So we need to gain a game on them to tie them in the draft order and two games to jump them.

** Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the next tie breaker is worst division record, in which case they'd still be ahead of us if we tied since they have 0 division wins, so we'd basically need to gain two games on them to jump them. **

So Week 17 is interesting when it comes to gaining comes in strength of schedule since every game is a division game. What that means is, every division we each played will be a wash since one team will have to win each of those games. We played the NFC East, AFC East and NFC South. The Chargers played the AFC West, AFC North and NFC North.

There are only four games that can affect our strength of schedule. For us, it's Packers vs Vikings and Seahawks vs Cardinals. We need Packers and Seahawks to both lose. It's definitely possible. On the other hand, the only games that affect the Chargers are Dolphins vs Patriots and Jaguars vs Texans. The Chargers played both the Florida teams so we'd need them to both win for us to have any hope. I don't know how likely that is since the Texans will be fighting for their division and the Patriots will be fighting for a bye and home field advantage.

Our best chance of moving up to the #3 spot is a Chargers loss. Also, I'm pretty sure we'd also jump Cleveland if they won and we lost. I haven't done the math yet but I think we would jump them.

Marcell Dareus, C.J. Mosley, Dre Kirkpatrick, Amari Cooper, Chance Warmack, HaHa Clinton Dix, Eddy Lacy, Donta Hightower... Shall I go on?

Don't diss the Bama Program when you have no idea what your talking about.

How is it a diss? If I believe those players are overrated, who are you to tell me otherwise? You took it awfully personally too, lol. Roll damn tide. Lol

Not the best draft to have a top 5 overall pick...

I'd say lets trade back and acquire more picks.

This draft has a "2013" feel to it where Eric Fisher went 1st overall. The first round produced some nice players in Sheldon Richardson, Kyle Long, DeAndre Hopkins and Travis Frederick, however there was a lot of depth in this draft and I would say that outside of Hopkins, the best players came in the later rounds: Honey Badger, Eddie Lacy, Jamie Collins, Le'Veon Bell, etc,

I'm not sold on any of the QBs in this draft as far as them being the future franchise QB...I'd rather continue to add to a pretty solid defense and get a nice RB and WR to go along with it.
