Cowboys must deal with Mincey issues

I expect Lewan is a faller come draft day. His off-field stuff is scary bad. I expect he is in the box for Dallas and off our board. Not even the neanderthal of the Dolphins was texting out rape threats to women.

He clearly has elite talent though and some team will take the chance and commit elite resources like r1 pick and big money to the guy.
That's scary.

It is not scary signing a vet with no guarantees who got bored of losing and was late to some meetings and cut as part of the youth movement. --Jax cut like 8 guys.
Mincey is either a mediocre NFL DE for us or he is a soon to be released free agent.
He prevents exactly zero other moves and uses up zero real resources.
BTW, hardly excusing Mincey, you should darn well be on time, but it just isn't really an issue because we'll take 100 bodies to camp and have the same commitment to Mincey as we do the least talented of those 100.

The real issue is the talent we have that outperforms the other players we've got is still not good enough to win games. But the culture here is actually pretty aggressive in terms of giving the snaps to the players that earn them.

Only very recently. One could mention Roy Williams and Marion Barber starting over younger players, etc. And the fact that this team continued to start Free throughout 2012 when he was a disastrous liability doesn't support your argument much. Something got under the coaching staff's skin this past year and things did change, but even then some of the decisions were questionable: Cutting Will Allen for Jeff Heath? Benching Carter for Sims?

Just speaking for myself, I don't care if the player likes to fondle his teammates in practice as long as he can help win games on Sunday.

Less focus on outstanding human beings. More focus on football players.
