There are fans who can not understand that building and winning are not necessarily
mutually inclusive.Red's turn at the wheel resulted in 3 seasons of 8/8. While dumping dead
contracts and old bodies. Digging us out of a cap hole and then getting to the 12/4 season.
Some fans will not accept the complete turn over of roster other then [Romo,Witten]
and not be competing for the play offs under those conditions. OK I get it,you just want to have
fun

And lastly [Im going to bed] there's nothing new. It's the same old dead horse we have pulverized.
You dont like Red where as I like him and think his taken some of us to the promise land.
You and others like you however don't get to go,You'd find fault. That's what keeps you at the gate.
But I and a few others will tell you and yours how good it feels and what a great game it was.
But your not allowed in the wagon

Your boy is 46-44 all-time after 5 1/2 years on the job

Exactly how many more years is it going to take to get the wagon to the promised land?

Any chance it will happen before my 2 year old daughter graduates from college?

You know something? Us Cowboys fans patiently rooted for our Dallas team through plenty of raw embarrassments in it's early days also...but the difference being, we created a home field advantage that the team could depend upon. Unlike today's fan always wanting self gratification with a sour disposition.

It ain't prefect is it. I thought more could be done but I'm far from done with Red.
I will not however claim that Red failed while rebuilding almost the entire team
they never called it that but look at all the position.

I'm with him till he finishes his contract then I'll look back over his tenure and see.
He lacks tough guy image would be my central observation but the players play.
The scheme? was pretty good in 2014?

This year was really tough but he gets more rope from me.

12-4......made playoffs
4-12

To make the playoffs only 1 time in 5 seasons is not a sign of success, thus questioning the direction the team is headed after this track record is not pointing fingers either, its simply holding people accountable for the results they have produced.

You mean came back from a 1-7 start in his inaugural year and was in it until the final game of the season for two years then went 12-4 only to look like crap with Romo gone.

Remember Garrett went 5-3 after a 1-7 starts then 8-8 while rebuilding. What the future holds I don't know assuming Romo plays but anyone looking at that curve sees a rebuilding trend if you discard 2015. I discard 2015 because it does not represent the team over the last 4 years. The team is competitive with Romo at QB.

And I've never been a big Garrett fan either.

1-11 ?

No, the team should not have been that bad................both Stephen and Jerry have admitted that we should have found ways to win more games with the talent we had on the roster and that they were both at a loss to explain losing every single game.

Troy Aikman also said during some of the game telecasts that "you cant blame losing this many games soley on Romo being gone".

So I guess that tough crowd includes both owners of the team as well as a the face of the franchise during the glory years.

Of course we should have won a couple more games. Who frackin' cares? It's over with now and you get more pressure, a backup QB, and better pass defenders. With Romo you have a chance to win esp with those additions. We'll see what we have early on.

The Cowboys had better come away with both, a blue chip and a starter. If not, playing a company store won't help.

Don't forget Omaha...:)

Doesn't help to grow 'em like onions, with their heads in the ground.

Z out, double post...

If the chessboard were completely full you could never have a game. It is only when you take a piece away from the whole all these things become possible because there is now a void. Game on.

I will make another case using this:
8-8_ Should have made playoffs winning last game or just one or 2 more along the way.
8-8_ Should have made playoffs winning last game or just one or 2 more along the way.
8-8_ Should have made playoffs winning last game or just one or 2 more along the way. qb excuse was used here
12-4......made playoffs_ Should have gone on to SB
4-12_ Should have done better with the bkup qb's but at least we get the high picks now......qb excuse was used here again

A good head coach will adjust to the talent on the field. A good GM will then surround the player with the tools needed to make him thrive.

Does that describe Garrett? Does that sound like Jones?

You judge.

Remember Garrett went 5-3 after a 1-7 starts........ people bring this up , but they forget JG was big reason
they were 1-7 !!!!!!!
Also he was really 4-4 not 5-3 because the philly game they had nothing to play for and didnt use their starters.
they were in the playoffs, and we won 14-13.
Had they been needing to win they would have won.
So JG was really 4-4 then 3 8-8's

Also when jerry let wade go he told the players they were now playing for their jobs, so that made them play better or harder too.

Now the 8-8 years were not rebuilding years, they were just like any other years , teams are always building.

I do agree though that 4-12 for 2015 is not a sign the team has gone downward, and they could not go up with the injurys, or go
12-4 again.
But they should have won more games than they did, and qb play and offense should have been better than it was.
They should have gone about 8-8 and that would have not made playoffs, but it would have shown coaches were
able to adapt.
Since they started 2-0 That means I am saying they should have won 6 of the other 14 games, if they win 7 of 14 they tie
wash for div.
That isnt expecting a lot for the team to win 1/2 the remaining games after losing romo/

true , but the fact JG wanted to keep murray, and jones didnt try to, makes it a bad relationship.
Also the jones get players JG doesnt want like CM and hardy.
So he is actually working against his coach at times.

but hey the thread is supposed to be about what QB should we get, should we draft one at # 4 ?

I think we need a talented guy who is new and healthy and RKG ,also big with good arm and can run if needed.
Wentz seems to be all of that .

I just thought that most top qb's get drafted by crappy teams, so as a qb that is not a good thing.

Does that sound like Jerry? Me and Jerry don't think alike if he thought like me the Cowboys would have at least 3 more championships and would be in serious SB contention every year. :)

Wow maybe you should be running the Cowboys !
