Cowboys 'No' on Hardy

Because you're wrong so often!

You are wrong on Abraham and you were wrong about the ability to replace the 3 guys we lost on defense that we relied on at the end of last season, and you were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy wrong about how good we would do last year. I was wrong on Clayborn and the Raiders having an interest (sorry I work for a living and missed that note from earlier today) sorry... but I still think you are wrong more than me.

Breaking NEWS: I just went in to the liquor store to buy a bottle of Jack Daniels and the Liquor store clerk told me to tell everyone at the Zone to relax as Jerry has a plan.

But it is so much more fun to panic! I mean how can you not panic, we lost a guy who had 0 sacks, a guy who was benched in favor of Nick Hayden (and also had Terrell McClain playing ahead of him much of the time), and a guy who was a headcase before and after the Cowboys, and we haven't replaced them in the first 4 days of free agency! What do you mean no need to panic!

There is still the draft, Players being cut after the draft, Players cut June 1st, players cut during training camps. Lots of time to get scrubs.

LOL sorry I was being sarcastic. I know good and well this offseason just began. Yea, we probably aren't going to get many elite players this offseason, but there are a couple of guys left that have a lot of potential (even more if you look outside the DE spot) and while drafted players might not get sacks, they can still do a lot of good things.

Are we expected to believe that things can only get better than 12-4, even when we lose players and not replace them or sign improvements?

Is that part of the job description?

Because, even though they've smartly not overpaid their own players, those players are still gone.
And since pass rush was their biggest weakness last year, especially in that last loss, and it's not been addressed one bit, why should we automatically assume that things will be better?

By any indication, we're in the negative from last year.

Dallas lost Murray. And who else? And you're trying to tell me Lee can't replace Durant?

No Dallas biggest weakness was the zone. Avg 3 sacks a game playing man is pretty good.

Stephen prepared fans on what they were going to do. Or not going to do. And fans like you are still shocked because you don't listen to what they have planned. They don't want to overspend and they stuck to their plan. Get over it.

I didn't realize who his agent was.

I wouldn't do business with that scumbag either. He has grown a terrible rep in the NFL...well not from a players perspective i suppose

It's not about listening, it's about disagreeing and not liking that plan.

Dallas lost Durant, Carter, and Melton, and haven't re-signed Moore, McClain, or Spencer yet, meaning any of them can leave too.

Sure, Lee can replace Durant. If he somehow stays healthy. But who then replaces McClain? Or Carter?

And even if you do, you're looking at the same pass rush weaknesses you had last year with zero done to improve there, and in fact one of the top sack guys gone. There's simply no ignoring that.

Calm DOWN for crissakes. All is well Kevin Bacon..............glad they didn't sign Hardy BTW. He's a thug.

I think you're getting that Kevin Bacon reference backwards.

And how is all well anyway? Where's the help for the pathetic pass rush?

And please don't give me the worn out 'have faith' routine. My fandom doesn't require me to blind myself from truth.

Shut up Beavis. Again....ALL IS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL is it just me or if it walks like and Eagles fan and talks like an Eagles fan, it probably is an Eagles fan and probably has no business here when it starts fights with everyone.

Not sure how much I trust a Fisher 'exclusive'.

Everything with Fisher is a "scoop", "breaking news" or "exclusive" these days. On most of these, he's just repeating what's in the public domain anyway.

Pretty transparent ploy to drive up membership for his pay site, where most of the stuff is either guys talking out of their *** with half-baked opinions, or "breaking" stuff that you could have read here earlier.

Because Durant didn't miss 16 of 32 games he played for Dallas?

Dallas didn't suffer at all when Hitchens took over for McClain.

Melton did nothing at all after week 6.

Spencer and his .5 sacks?

After the team went man they were at the top of the league in 3 and outs. It's not perfect but it worked.

Sure he did. But he was our best linebacker last year before he got hurt too. I'm glad that we didn't play what Atlanta did, but that sure doesn't mean that we're not a lesser team gir losing the player.

I'll disagree with you there. Hutchins played well, but McClain was a force for much of the season.

Melton did nothing at all after week 6.
but was still among the team leaders in sacks and pressures. Who's filling in for that production? Random roster name out of a hat?

Spencer and his .5 sacks?
he's effectively out the door to me already. Almost Anthony's time has past and you can get 0 sacks from anyone.

After the team went man they were at the top of the league in 3 and outs. It's not perfect but it worked.

Until it didn't. The fact is that everyone knows the pass rush was the team's biggest weakness. And the numbers clearly show that to anyone wiling to look. If you want yo giver your eyes to it, I cant stop you. But that won't make it go away.

And now, at this point, if they don't get Hardy, there's nothing else they can do to significantly address the problem for 2015. The options simply aren't available anymore.

I'm not really in on this debate, but I'll bet you Dallas has more sacks next year than we did in 2014.
Let me know your terms.....

Last year during training camp I had a few threads where I listed why the defense would improve over the dismal 2013.
There were a long list of people saying it would actually be even worse...some said way worse.
But really, there were maybe 10-15 (20?) really good reasons why they would be better. I listed them.

Well have to wait few months (draft, training camp progress, trades, FAs) but I bet the list won't be too bad this year either....though not as easy as last year.

Welcome to the board, and your first like.

Agree with your take on Fisher.... He owns the site, and looking for paying members to get " insider info"
