I'd typically agree with your approach. I felt the same way last season. I felt losing Amari we were going to take a step back. You could argue as a team they got better. But this year is different to me personally. I believe we are right there with those teams. I think our approaches are a tad different. You believe you have to show it to get the hype. I dont' think we're getting hype personally. I think the hype is coming from this fanbase and I think yes we are a biased bunch whether its negatively or positively I think we've all seen this team over the past 27 years and see the NFC having only about 2 teams as good or better than us and see this is one of the best chances we've ever had at getting a SB. Its going to take getting over that SF hump. For sure. But its not unreachable.
Not all diehard fans are able to be unbiased. It’s very difficult to separate our hearts from our minds . I call it tough love. I’m a fan and a critic all wrapped up into one. This era has hardened me and I’ve become more of an apathetic fan. This team is going to have to prove it. My belief has worn thin over the years .
Belief for me derives from proven action. Like being there before. And until we knock down that door I’m going to remain suspect.
But that doesn’t mean I’m not without hope. I recall how it was back in the 60’s when we were coined “ next years champion”. We wanted to believe we had a good enough team to win a championship but until we did it was just talk.
Problem is like it was back in our glory era that even when you have a good enough team there are other teams better . Unfortunately one of these teams which appears better could make our road to the SB even tougher if we can’t win our division.
